Try inserting the flat washer into the bottom of the switch. Denting= pressing the button too hard for contact. Are you on the first V3 switch with the stainless screw, or did you upgrade to the brass?

I have the v3.1 with the brass screw. Do I put the washer between the black plastic and the switch? As apposed to the head of the screw and the black plastic.

By the way, I love my prodigy and I understand that there is a learning curve with anything. I'm sure I'll figure this out with a little help.

Ah-ha. There is already a washer there, is it ok to have two washers?

Yup :) When batteries get dented (most inevitably do) you need to add length to the switch to make better contact. I would limit the amount of washers at 2. If they continue to get dented even worse, it will be time for a new set of batteries. Once you do get a new set of batteries, drop it back down to 1 washer :)

Also ... Try and take it easy when pushing in the button. The button can take all the abuse you can give it, but the batteries can't :) haha
