I'm looking to buy batteries for my reo and other mods. I like aw batteries but do they make flat tops? I will be sub ohming rtd vapor does not have flat tops in aw. What would you recommend and where would you buy? Can any one also recommend a good charger where batteries will stay in while going over very rough terrain? Sorry if this is not a appropriate place to post. Thank you.

I bought some of these in a co-op and have been very pleased with them. They have very good reviews.

Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh - RTD vapor

This is a flat top and I understand what Filthy-Beast is saying. He is more knowledgeable than me but just thought I'd tell you what I think a lot of people are using.

I am sure you will get plenty of good suggestions on chargers, but I have been super pleased with this one.

The batteries are very secure but I would imagine a rubber band or a girls pony tail holder would handle any terrain or any charger. Just my 3¢(inflation).

Good luck to you.

As you can see, everyone is different OP. If you truly "need" flat-tops, you can't go wrong with Sony VTC4's (or VTC5's, but legend has it they can only be obtained by slaying the unicorn that lives in the belly of the dragon that lives in the belly of Moby D., the Great White Whale) or MNKE's, which are the primary choice of many sub-ohming fanatics. Quite frankly, any flat-tops are fine as long as they can handle the amperage you are pushing through your atty. Here's a chart with some basic battery info.

As for the charger, the one linked below is a wonderful option. It is cheap, durable, and stops sending a charge once the batteries read as "fully charged." Overcharging your batteries will diminish their shelf life very, very quickly.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Edit: Just noticed the bit about rough terrain. I did you a solid and loaded four batteries into my charger (same as the one linked above), then proceeded to violently shake it. Two popped out, two stayed in. I'd say take your chances.

I only have Sony batteries. One is a vtc4 and the rest are vtc5's. I managed to get all mine before they stopped producing them and all the fakes started popping up. When my batteries need replacing I'm planning to order the 2200 AW batteries. Hopefully, Sony can make a comeback and we start to see them available again. While their at it, change something about the battery so we know it isn't a fake kinda like AW did with their new hologram logo.

One more vote for the Samsung 25R.
I use 4 of those for the last 6 month now, and they work perfectly with my vapes around 1 ohm.
They are used in 4 day rotation, with a single battery getting me through a complete day.
Better performance than the previous AWs, at half the price.
Don't know about the new AW2200, so YMMV.

I'm with SoftSell on this - any of my flat tops want to arc *bigtime* in my Reo, but the AW is always load-and-go. Also, my dual coil builds are usually in the .3-.35 ohm range, and my singles .35-.4, and I've never managed to make an AW warm. Ever. Unless you're going crazy-low-resistance, I suggest staying with the buttontop AW.

I have to say I agree with Trollkin. I love my AW's; I just can't use them with most of my builds. If you are staying above 0.30Ω, these batteries are just splendid. I haven't had any issues with my VTC4's or VTC5's as far as arcing, and I usually run around 0.14Ω to 0.18Ω. Guess that's just luck of the draw. AW's are as dependable and consistent as Aunt Linda's baked goods.

I was thinking about picking up a few of these for my LG HE2 flat tops: Flat Top Battery Adapter - RTD vapor
I think madvapes has them for like $.15 cheaper... Not sure if the post will be too long (forcing closed connection all the time - ie auto fireing) or not, but for a few bucks it seems like its worth a shot to save the $5 positive connector on the reo. The long throw on the button doesnt bother me, but the wear on the positive connection does.

I have been using the LG HE2's exclusively for several months now and haven't experienced any arcing at all. I have run down as low as .22Ω on a couple atty's, but tend to stay in the .3-.35Ω range more often. I do clean my contacts on a monthly basis and De-Ox them at that time also. I think a lot of the arcing is due to how the button is pushed. If you are hesitant at all in pushing it will not be a solid connection and that is when arcing occurs the most. I wouldn't say I'm a button masher, but I use a firm push. I vape mostly, (99.99% of the time), reverse detonator style. I push the button with my index finger and the button is facing away from me as I push it. Every once in a while I will turn it around and use my thumb, but not very often...

HE2s and VTC5s havent given me problems - I'm usually closer to .6ohms on my dual coil builds for the Reo.Lately I've been doing singles between 1.2&1.6. I put my .2ohm build on there a few times and I didnt notice anything other than the battery draining faster than the bottle :) (no arcing or anything)
I also clean my Reo monthly (so far) and nolox the contacts and batteries. De-ox would be a better choice (way less messy). I'm including it with my next amazon order :)

Unfortunately, with my super-sub builds, I still get arcing with DeOxit. I clean/treat with DeOxit, then apply Noalox to the positive contact on the battery to prevent arcing. With both of these compounds, I get absolutely zero sparking, even with my 0.14Ω builds. I doubt that can be said about even the most elite tube mods. As for the throw of the button, I also like it a bit shorter. I have pieces of silicon Krazy-glued to the bottom of my buttons. The round silicon insulators from old tanks fit perfectly. It shortens the throw and, according to science, can withstand heat exposure of upwards to 2,500° Fahrenheit. No problems there.
