Yeah Regular's have less mAh then the XL's dear Katz, I wish I had extra XL's I would send you one or two.

Aw that's sweet of you! Don't worry about me Krazie, I have plenty of batteries - shorties, regulars and some new diamond regulars coming. I once received 2 chrome XLs as replacement for some shorties that weren't working, but I think they were the 'clearance' XLs. I didn't like their draw much. Perhaps the newer ones would be better. Gosh, if I got the new diamond XLs which are even longer, it'd be like having one of those long cigarette holders - the full Audrey!!!

The more I think about it, the more I want one. A new, longer, matte black XL and a delrin drip tip. Totally OTT & drama queen. Pretentious, moi?

Ms. Katz one of the nicest parts of the new xxl manual kd's is the draw is very comparable to that of a regular kd auto. You'll have the full Audrey look along with every other great aspect of the batts. :)

Yep, they even make me look pretty :D

Hehehe. Audrey was so beautiful, I could never emulate her look, but if it makes me feel as good as she looked, it'd be amazing. :smokie:

This is a funny place to put a question like this but maybe it fits :) I will be going on a cruise and would really like to know what kind of battery and charger to take because to have either of them die would be terrible. I don't own any battery newer than the original shorty stealth...and I dearly love them :) I also have one xl shorty and one reg shorty :) The rest of my batteries are hodge podge sale batteries :) I have 3 of the slim chargers, the ubs charger that came with my kit and I think one other one but have honestly been using the slim chargers the most :)

So, in light of all the technical jargon flying around here (and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you guys working all of this out for us), anyone have recommendations on what to take to avoid dead equipment but not overload my luggage? Seriously, by the time my dive equipment is packed, I'm counting absolute ounces...and I carry my stuff in a duffel bag so I don't have to factory in the heavier wheeled luggage ;)

Ms. Kanza would suggest taking one slim line for overnight charging, and a usb for when you're on the go (seems as if you can always find a usb port these days). Take as many batts as you normally go through in a day plus 2 or 3. For cartos and juice double what you'd normally go through in the same span at home. That way you have plenty of both but not going overboard... Hope this helps Ms. Kanza. :)

Yes, that helps :) It's just deciding on which juices now :) I really love the USA but I might just as well be <gasp> smoking with the odor they leave :) Time to haul out some old favorites and their matching cartos ...or... plan a trip to V4L to see the newer new juices :) Plus, pick up a usb charger since I seem to have given mine to someone I helped get started on V4L :)

Last night into today decided to do something no one should ever do to a batt, but in the name if science (and lack of sleep followed by a 16 hour day) decided to see what would happen to a manual king diamond batt left on a slim line charger for 24 hours. Off load voltage came to 4.26v, a little high but not nearly as high as one would expect. Using it now, so far haven't seen any voltage change from the previous numbers and will report back at the end of the night with more results. This was dangerous and could have resulted in the death of the batt, please do not duplicate this test. Only doing this to see if by accident you left one on a slim line 24 hours if it would survive....

ChadR sir haven't done alot of research of the pcc and the new king diamond manuals. As for the king diamond autos they will come off between 4.24-4.25v, but the pcc had a bad habit of not always getting along with them. Sometimes they won't charge at all, other times it will not stop charging them leading to an overcharge. Why I really can't wait for the new pcc that's in the works....
