Battery connection

i have a Smowell dvp-50'and it seems to me the battery is not making a connection. If I hold the battery part down very hard it will come on but soon as I stop pushing down it will go back off. Anybody can help me?

Are you using a flat-top or button-top battery? Does the Smowell have a threaded battery adjustment?

Flat top. No you take out some screws, remove cover, and put battery in

Take a look at your bottom plate where it hits the negative of the battery. Does it look like there is a coating on it? There could be a coating on the negative interfering with the contact.

No coating. I think it's just defected

Is it possible that this mod needs a button-top battery to make the proper contact?
