Funny, being new I asked this question in the new members forum... I also had gotten mixed answers.

My question was: "Until I am certain I will vape long-term, I only bought a single battery unit. If I sit at my desk all day and plug it in the USB in between uses will that harm the battery?"

No one was certain. So glad I kept digging!

Imr batteries are (li-mn) lithium manganese not (ni-mh) nickel metal hydride

Just to solve any confusion there.

Thanks fray.

Man, I got to stop posting info about batteries. I think this is about the 3rd time you have corrected something that I have posted.

Thank again for the correct info.

Changing my provari batt now. Great info everyone!! Thank you!

Just to add more questions to the mix....does the charger make a difference... I know twolazy mentioned regulated charging that doesn't cause excess heat. I ask because I purchased the Pila 4 stage with my provari and I am using the 18650 AW IMR 1600mah batts from Provape. Just wonder if the Pila will also make that much of a difference.

fray, I'm still confused with all those elements in different batt types, li-mn, ni-cad, ni-mh & li-ion. All I wanted for Xmax was a batt that doesn't blow up and lasts > 300 charges.

They're just different chemicals that react to make power. The differences are a little technical but largely irrelevant to what we're about here. LiIon, LiMN and LiFePo4 are the most common for E-cigs. I've got a pair of Trustfire LiIon 18650s here and a pair of AW IMR (LiMN, "safe chemistry") 18650s which are my main batts and that's all I need.

Jibba73, glad you found it useful. That was the purpose of this thread.

zoiDman, oh man, I completely believed your "ni-mh" remark! Kidding.

KTaylor, welcome to the converts, time to swap out my Riva too.

Thanks, Mindfield, yeah, I know, just like the chemistry sets (just wanted to keep it simple). Can we vape with potatoes? If they can light a bulb... :)

Those would be baby booties in Betty's hand JustaGuy sir. :)

Doing some tests on IMR batts, but no where near being complete on them. All my tests have been on kr808 batts (they're what I use 95% of the time).

Well, that would put a :) on anyone's face, sir. KR808s are good enough for me, close enough.

I don't know about vaping with potatoes. They sure as hell make lousy drinking buddies.

Oh, I don't know. I've had conversations with some Mr. Potatoheads. I had a golden retriever named Mac that looked just like your avatar...minus the smile. Nice doggies...........ok, going OT, forum security is gonna get me.

You probably got the mix up from me when I misspoke in a thread awhile back. I edited it but you may have read it before I changed it.

That's funny because I thought it Was you that told/corrected me that they Were Ni-MH.

But I couldn't remember the thread and I figured I'd look like a complete dolt if I was pointed it out and was wrong. Again.

LOL
