i use my mutation vx4 on mine but you must still visually inspect your atty for coil shorts and for the correct center pin , the smpl mod is not a good mod for a new user at all I always suggest if you start with a mech to use something with top and bottom contacts to avoid the problem with the 510I switched the atty to my mutation v4 is that alright? This is the first time I've ever had something like this happen and I'm just trying to understand it more.
You probably have loose screws after the coils heated it's common but another thing that mucst be checked after you dry fire and then again after you wick it to make sure you don't push your coils into your posts if you tug on them at all during wickingMy mutation when i built it was at .12 i just measured now its at .28
Thank you Louis I knew you would be here I posted a pic in my last post showing the 510 problem with the attyHelp a lady out!
The outside threads on the connector of your RDA are part of a circuit that should never contact the top of your battery. A regular mod will prevent that, a hybrid, like the SMPL will not. The center pin in the middle of that thread, SHOULD be insulated from the outside threading, and in the case of a hybrid ABSOLUTELY MUST hang down below the outside threading, and STAY below no matter how tightly you screw the RDA (or whatever) into that mod.
I agree that it is nuts for your vape shop to have sold you a hybrid. I've been doing this for over 3 years, and I wouldn't dare mess with a hybrid.
You can put a vapesafe fuse in it to help protect you, but they trip at 7 amps, and your builds are too low ohm for that. So your choices, budget wise, are to get a fuse and build higher ohm builds, or get rid of that SMPL and get a safer mod. You obviously have an ohm meter that will detect a short in your build, so you don't necessarily need a regulated device. But since you seem to be going after cloud chasing builds, you can get something like a Pioneer4you D2 for about $35, and you will have a very safe, regulated mod that includes temperature control.
And forget that vape shop! Those guys are gonna KILL ya. And they probably overcharge. Read here, buy online.
