Reading on this forum, it appears many of you have had this same experience:

Once you realize vaping is going to be "your thing", you end up hating the battery life of the eGo battery you received in your starter kit. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't encourage someone to spend a lot on their first set-up until they realize vaping is for them.

Anyway, I'm at this crossroads. I have an ego V2 mega and still waiting on a backup ego from FastTech that only cost me $8. My current ego only last me about 3 hours if I'm vaping heavily (which is most of the time). However, I still think that those two is still not going to give me the battery life I need.

I am already worried about my cell phone battery going dead all the time, and making sure these two batteries staying charged all the time is going to consume my life. It was so bad this weekend, that I didn't go out drinking with friends because I knew I didn't have enough power in my battery to last me while I was out.

Anyway, I was hoping to get some ideas on what to upgrade too....The two most important criteria are that it obviously stays charged for very long, at least a day and that it is compact/sturdy enough to slide into a pocket. I don't mind if it is heavy or thicker, but I do prefer the pen shape style, and not the battery pack looking batteries I've seen.

So here are my questions:

If cost was not an issue, what would be the "top-of-the-line" battery you would buy?
If that battery is more than $150, what would be your best battery in $100 - $150 range?
What would be your best battery for under $100?

In addition to the batteries described, what extra's would I need to buy?

Thanks for the help and feedback,

Austin

Sounds like you don't want an APV that holds the bigger batteries then. If you're looking for another eGo style battery to keep the same form factor, just look for a battery with the highest mAh rating you can find. That's usually 1100-1300 mAh. If you want anything that lasts longer then that, you would need to step up to and APV or a Mech, but those will all require the separate batteries.

I would suggest moving up to a Vamo, Sigelei ZMAX telescoping, or SVD. The pictures make them look much larger then they actually are. When I get home, I can post a picture of my eGo 1100mAh, Vamo, and Sigelei side by side so you can see the difference.

I think I will pull the trigger on a Vamo...Been reading great things about it on the forum and in YouTube videos. I don't mind it being a little extra thick and can adjust size based upon the size of the batteries I get.

Mother of god haha! That thing is huge. I'm rocking the 1100 mah ego passthrough. That pretty much always gets me through the day.

Yeah it is. It uses the same batt as my REOs so its only a backup.

Great choice!! I have a question for everyone else tho.. why does nobody ever suggest the Tesla vv/vw apv?
Probably because it has the most unorthodox look. Personally, I think it looks cool but I can see how others don't. The deal breaker for me though is the adjustment buttons above the screen, epic fail...

Yeah, those all look fine to me as far as size...Do you prefer the ZMAX over the Vamo?

I have each of those as well and the Sigelei V3 would get my vote. With the 18350 batteries, the form factor is shorter than most ego's with 1000 mAh or higher, and it does feel smaller. Extra 18350 batteries will give you the longer battery life you want while maintaining the small form factor...OR...just pop an 18650 in there and you're good for hours. Vamo's are good too, but the Sigelei is one magnitude higher quality, imho. My Sigelei V3 has emerged as my daily go to vape because it is so flexible and because I love variable power. The batteries you get today will last a long time and serve you well in the other mods you may purchase later. The initial setup with good batteries and charger does not have to be repeated allowing you add mod only devices in the future which saves big time. Good post! Vape On!
