I had been considering getting my Mini 2.0 chopped to take a 22mm atty. I have fallen in love with the Derringer. After getting my SL grand, I am considering just buying a new SL mini.

i don't care about battery swaps. I have desk at work, pocket, etc to hold an extra battery or two. That is not part of any decision.

How low of a resistance can I *safely* go on an atomizer with 18490/18500 batteries. And what batteries should I be looking at? I have a couple AW's and some Efests, but all are a couple years old and I feel they should be taken out of any rotation.

RTD has the *new* 18490 AW's they are 18a continuous. I wouldn't go lower than .3 or .35 on them
^^^This!

Doing the math, you *could* go as low as .23ohms on a fully charge AW *new* 18490, but I agree with Mrs C, .3 MINIMUM for safety margin, .35 would give plenty of margin.

On a full battery, .3 ohms would be almost 59watts, hope that plenty for you!
