Did my batteries vent?

I was playing 2k and was vaping, and I sat down my vape next to me. Two minutes later I grab it about to vape it, and I hear something burning and it smelled really bad. At this moment I was freaking out that I sat the mod down on the floor waited like a min then I opened mod and then I took batteries out. I smelled the battery slot and it smelled bad, then took off rda and the 510 smelled bad. I didn't wanna vape it so I just left it like that. The mod is IPV4 with Sony vtc4 with mutation x v3. Anyone know what it might be? Thanks

That doesn't sound good. Maybe the fire-button got stuck, or your dripper leaked causing a short, you might want to check that. Probably best to get rid of the battery and check your dripper and mod.

Is there any liquid in inside the sled, is it burnt. Is the inside of the RDA burnt. Are the batteries discolored or damaged?

inside the sled , no. But where the magnets are on the ipv4 was l there was little. The rda wasn't burnt on the inside, and nope batteries still look the same

It sounds like your fire button stuck and it was burning your wick. If it should happen again, immediately unscrew the topper to break the contact. I would be wanting to find out why the fire button stuck before trusting the device again though.

Either the fire button autofired, or the fire button became stuck the last time you fired it up.

Check to see if the fire button "sticks" when you press it. Sticky residue from leaking e-liquid from your atty might be a culprit.

As far as your battery is concerned, inspect it physically for signs that it might have vented. Batteries generally vent from the positive end. Make sure the insulating wrap around the battery is still intact without holes or a tear. Measure the voltage of the battery; if under 3.4 volts the battery likely vented.

When I put the batteries in charger they both had 4.0v

Isopropyl alcohol bath for the mod to prevent sticky fire button. Let it dry for some time to allow alcohol to evaporate completely.
