I read in a thread that I think Leaford was talking about a battery with no LED, even though I haven't tried the e-cig yet I know I'd love the LED light at home or whatever but I think it would be kind of weird smoking at work (lots of other smokers) especially nighttime having a light lighting up everytime I take a puff. Also on the bus to work it's usually completely dark because we don't get much daytime at this time of the year here and even though I'm "allowed" to use it legally (i think) I'd rather just stick to a stealth vape which would not work so well with the LED glowing in the dark.

Is this still being considered, and if so any estimate as to when it may happen?

Newff..I lived in Newfoundland as a child (dad was stationed there) The people there called themselves "Newfies"! Beautiful country when you could see it thru the fog!
Anyway, when I vape where I am trying to be "quiet" about it, I just hold the e-cig with my palm cupping the end, pipe style. The light isn't so bright that it's shows. I have done that in a theater. I just wish cartos were a bit quieter!

Hmm, stationed there..I'm guessing Military? By any chance was the place you lived called Gander? They have a Military base there and it's basically where I live..30 mins from there, well lived..been in Alberta for 2 years now...but you say "when you could see through the fog" so maybe you were in St. Johns where it's foggy a lot.

Like you said I guess I could cover it with my hand, or maybe I could have a battery just for the bus and put some black tape at the bottom.

Sounds good Leaford...I'd be more than happy with a black one of those.

We are planning batts without LEDs, but they will probably have limited color selections. Perhaps only one or two colors, like Black and White, but also a special camoflogue edition for our Military customers, for whom an LED may well be hazardous!

Fantastic idea!! I do want the LED because it does help me know when the battery is heating the carto, it's not that hard to cover up for stealth vaping.
But bravo for the idea for military users!

GREAT idea - I especially like the idea of black and camo. If you are going to the trouble of using a 'no-LED' ecig, the white kind of stands out (IMHO). The stealthier the better. I know when I was in the military, there were times we could not light up so would have to resort to chew (yuck) or snuff to get my nicotine fix. A LED free ecig would have been a super thing to have then.

It was St. John's..that fog was so bad my mom tied me to her when we had to go out..we lived close to the cliffs.
Mom and me by the St John's bay when we first got there.

I would never buy a battery with no LED. How are you going to know if the battery sticks in the on position. IMO..very bad idea, but to each there own.

BTW...been a while since I have been to the movies but I can imagine the embarrassment one would have if the carto started to make popping noises during a silent scene..lol

You may not buy one, but our military personnel overseas probably don't want to get shot while they are vaping. Personnaly, I like the LED's, but having the no LED version would be awesome for stealth vaping... :thumb:

I am aware of that....and I don't want them to get shot for any reason. BUT...there are other places where an LED could be placed on the battery and could be very subtle.

Besides, an alternative such as the chuck would be best IMO, and it sounds like V4L will be offering something like it. It is much more rugged than the batteries we are accustomed to and therefore would be more suitable for the military.
