I agree, it's not about converting smokers in mass, that is definitely not the answer to anything. IMO it would open up a huge can of worms that wouldn't be welcome to a large number of smokers. It's enough to keep helping those whom come to us asking for it and the creepers we never meet who scour these forums reading our reviews and complaint threads about devices, juices and hardware.

I discovered fairly early on that it's not just non-smokers who are anti-vaping. Even some smokers take a 5 minute face value analysis of vaping based on their own misconceptions and make false assumptions based on nothing. vaping isn't for everyone BUT it is the best tool we have to help people save themselves when they are ready for it.

Live and let live really.

It can be very frustrating.
I have five converts.

One girl gained five ounds and went right back to analogs,
one didnt even open the box
one actually stayed with it for 5 months and ent back to the dark side. still on 808's,and said it just wasnt doing it.
wouldn;t accept my old t-rex

one still smokes part time, mostly out of respect I think.
One just sneaks it.

My only true success is my own brother. He just knows Il beat him up i guess.

You can only educate, but to be true, knocking on doors on saturday morning gets you no where.

So far I'm at 6 out of 7 and his Mom got it for him he didn't order it.
If they are interested and asking lots of questions and I know them I offer them my Torch 650 mah pass through and some juice to try for a week.
The 6 asked me to order them a kit and what ever else they need(their words).
I keep a few extra things on hand but seem to order once a month and ask if anyone needs anything.
It's worked great so far.
Maybe I should open a store instead. lol

So far you're in the lead I think :). And maybe the third person who has mentioned lending out gear... I give my friend a Volt battery and some juice when we're out, so she can get a feel for using it in public, get comfortable with it. She's a bit strapped for $ at the moment so no orders yet. But when she has the ecig she barely smokes analogs at all.

I'm not smoking tobacco flavours very much and get the reaction from people that they don't want to smoke sweet or fruity juice, so I ordered some tobacco juices and that has made a positive dent.

A really good idea.

I've converted 2 family members so far and tried to help two other smokers quit by lending them a spare PV. Neither of these two have followed through and are back to smoking analogs. Truth is, neither of these people want to quit and as much as I'd like them to get healthier I have to back off and let them come to the decision to quit on their own.

I feel the same way LOL we've actually thought about opening a store. If we could get about a grand together for the initial investment then we'd do it for real.

I have had 10 people over time who expressed real interest. 3 have fully converted to vaping, one quit everything, and the rest dabble back and forth. I found once I passed the six month mark, and was still hanging out in the smoking section at work, there was more interest. Almost like as time went on, it was viewed to be more valid or something. Now that I'm over the year mark I find I'm getting a lot more inquiries lately. Even the fact that 4 people now not longer smoke due to a change I made is sorta nice :)

Funny I was just thinking the very same thing! Proving that it's a powerful stop smoking tool by example.

0 - I had 2 friends in 2 different countries ask me for info as well. One had even bought a small 510 pen style pv :(

I spent HOURS making a document that was specific to them and their countries, listing places to get hardware and juice, 2 different hardware suggestions, suggesting easy accessories and tips and tricks listed at the end. Neither of them thanked me and neither vape now.

The last I heard from one's wife was "his boss is buying him cartons of smokes". I almost cried.

I'd still do it all again, although it is a little disheartening.

Honestly my non-smoking friends are the ones I worry about! They almost all smoke when drinking, so I have bought extra Stardusts and take them with now with my old pvs for them to use, otherwise they pester me to use mine and I don't want their spit on my drip tips, no matter how much I like them!

Putting an exact number to this, for me, is virtually impossible. But the positive message I convey
to others about PV's(my pretend cigarette) is still very important, in my view.

Just last night I introduced the option to about 40 people simply by taking my ego to the
local legion to play euchre. Many questions answered, and one lady, who asked where I
got it, received some additional information. Canvapes web address and the ECF address.

In the end 40 folks that had no previous first hand experience with a "pretend cigarette"
now do, and they also have my personal testimony as to how easy it is to switch and
reduce the harm smoking causes.

Seeing results would be nice, but not really that important. Word of mouth is far reaching,
and who knows how many may convert due to only one persons chance meeting with a vaper.

To answer the question "how many"? Zero, AFAIK.

Interesting and inspiring thread. My thoughts as a 3 week long self-convert. Record is 0 out of 4 with prospect to bring it up to 1.

1. It's not for everyone. The online aspect, the new technology, and legal status is a barrier to entry except for the desperate, adventurous and trusting few. Let's admit it a lot of people are followers and they will follow only once its more mainstream.

2. There are some people who are like dry kindling just waiting for the flame. Its want they always dreamed of. My sister found out about me second hand and now she's completely sold, even before I gave the spiel. Going over there this week with a full kit and juice collection to start the fun.

3. A lot of people are interested but not ready. I got so many text from friends I showed it to, "where do you get one"? Will they get one, probably not.

4. Take care of yourself first, and then you can help others. We all made the decision and we reap the benefits. Each has their own responsibility for their own health. We can only share our success, and hopefully, if they are ready, they will find the vape.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that not everyone is ready as we were. Even if we didn't think so, we were at a spot in our lives. Even I knew about for at least a year before I looked at it seriously.

I show people my e-cigs and give them info. The rest is up to them. I have had a couple of people switch and stay off analogs. I have also had a couple that for different reasons didn't.
