I posted this email on the New Member forum but received very few responses (although the responses recieved from Baditude, NancyR and Pappy were very much appreciated!). I'm hoping maybe to get some more input on the Legacy?

I am a long time lurker, with very few posts so sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum.

I've been smoke free for a little over 3 months now. I started vaping over a year ago and fell off the wagon for a few months but this time I think I'm finally done with analogs for good.

I've been using the eGo 1000 mah twists, and regular 650's as backups, with the regular and mini vivi nova for the past three months and think I'm ready to move up to something a bit more permanent. The Twists have been great but, to be honest, I'm not sure what # i've been vaping at since I can't see the numbers :(! I really like the vivi nova's and plan to stick with them. My eyesight isn't the greatest and although rebuildables sound interesting, it's just not for me.

I think I've narrowed my choice down to either a BB, SB or Legacy but am not opposed to more recommendations. For those who have these devices, can you please comment about your likes, dislikes, problems you may have had with them? I'm looking for something that is not huge, not too expensive and will last a while. The whole battery thing has me a bit nervous but I can definitely see the benefits of them vs. the disposables I have been using. I realize neither is VV but I think I'm ok with that. Although I would love to own a Provari or some of the other beautiful Mods I have seen posted, it's just not in the budget right now.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing your comments!

My 1st apv was a BB, works fine but found I much prefer the "feel" of stainless steel hence I mostly use a Super-T P-10, P-18, and a Icon (also from Puresmoker like the Legacy). All mechanical insures very little can go wrong and if it does I should be able to diagnose the problem. So far no trouble with any of them, and with a lr carto a darn good vape, Just acquired a Penelope and the all mechanical mods are even better.

I have a BB, 2 SB and 2 ProVari's. If you don't care about variable voltage, I would look at the ProVape from ProVape. It is a 3.7v device that is stainless steel. The BB and SB are aircraft aluminum and therefore lighter, but both are 3.7v. I love both, but I really like the weight behind the ProVari. If you are into tanks, they fit nicely on the BB, ProVape and ProVari. The SB is a bit bigger around. All have 510 connectors. The Super T P series are supposed to be excellent devices. They have a bottom button IIRC where the others have a side button.

Glad to chime in here in praise of my Kicked Legacy with the 18650 extension tube. It's a very solid mod, and feels really comfortable in the hand. The bottom button is not the turn-off I was afraid it might be ... in fact, now that I've tried it, I really like it! With the Kick, I get the best of both worlds ... the solid construction of an all-mechanical mod, and variable wattage performance, which more or less assures that I'll get the same great vape from any atomizer throughout the battery charge ... no tail-off at the end of the charge. I like the standard size Legacy so well, I think I'll get a Mini for an out-and-about device.

My other major mod is an SS ProVari and I like my Legacy just as well. I've got Penelopes on top of both, with AVE Flue-Cured in the Legacy's Penny and AVE Boba's Bounty in the ProVari's Penny.

One major difference is in the battery between the BB and the Sb. The BB uses a 14500 and the SB a 18650, the larger 18650 will give you at least double the vape time of the smaller 14500. Another factor that might not be important now but might be later is the fact you can use a Kick (a device to vary the wattage of your device) in the SB to increase flavor and vapor production.

One thing to consider would be buying a Bolt and a Kick for about the same price as the SB and have variable wattage from the start. I have seen the Bolts with an extension tube for around 40 and the Kick is 45.

What I did was got a SB, a couple 3100 mah batteries, and parked LR coils in a Vivi Nova Tank on top. Worked great and a battery would literally last a couple days of chain vaping, so that was a very good setup. Then, when I had a little more cash got the extension sleeve, a KICK device, and a pair of 2000 mah IMR batteries. Set the KICK to 8 watts and now use coils in the 2.9-3.5 ohm range, but the batteries only get me about 10 hours or so which is still not too bad.

I wanted a BB for the smaller size, but didn't want the smaller batteries and it wouldn't take the KICK.

Have never seen a Super-T PV in person but they sure look nice from the photos. Maybe one day...

Thanks the replies! What do you mean by "parked lr coils in a vivi nova"?

I agree with the battery size. I'm leaning toward something with an 18650 battery that I could someday get a kick for.

Until I got the KICK device to be able to adjust my desired wattage, just put Low resistance coil heads on the Nova tank.

I have an SB with 18490s and a kick. Also a vivi nova on top. I like it without the extension because the size feels perfect to me and I still get quite a few hours out of the 18490. The build quality of the SB is fantastic. The only negative really, is that it isn't fully mechanical.
