I remember that night he was on our thread and I was telling to go ahead and look at my hand slaps in my profile and he came back and said I had been very naughty Ha Ha!
I remember we were discussing ho w you couldnt use the word for the short version of Richard w/o it being deleted by the system and there were a few comments from Tick and we were saying he was going to get a slap for it and a few hours later there was Dusty...

That's the night I was thinking about, but Dusty was very nice about it! :)

Does it look like the Sigelei Mini 30 Watt are going to be in tomorrow Bruce? If I don't get a chance to order them until day after tomorrow, because they don't get in until late or something, make sure you save me one, I'll order it Thursday morning, along with some other stuff!!!

tracking says they are inbound. will be late afternoon 5pm your time

The "running hot" mostly refers to the fact that it uses Mean PWM rather than RMS PWM. This results in 8 watts on the iStick 20w being hotter than 8 watts on a device using RMS or a flat DC signal. Without step down, however, your 3.8 volts is really 4.2 volts without your device telling you. In essence, when you are vaping with a newly charged battery, your 1.2 - 1.5 ohm coils are giving you 11.8 - 14.7 watts.

May not be a problem, but it won't help someone with a different device.

I've heard that, but the iStick does do pwm. And it does give a lower "average" voltage. I remember Busardo's scope. When I have it set to 8 watts, it does deliver 8 watts (based on means). But I don't perceive a power change from fully charged until depleted. Am I wrong?

I thought I read that the earlier iSticks used mean and they changed that to PWM on later ones, but maybe I read it about a different device, and just am remembering wrong. Does anyone know?

Ya got to play the old guy card just right. snickers. or at least i say that when I get caught. Works most times... snickers

the iStick 20w (and I believe the 30w and 50w) uses PWM, which is nothing more than turning the power on and off, many times per second. Now there are 2 main mathematical ways to figure out what the resulting power output is, means and RMS.

The iStick 20w uses means PWM. The MVP, iStick 30w and 50w uses PWM RMS.

Not an exact analogy, but here goes. If you drove a half mile at 30MPH, then instantly sped up to 90MPH for the next half mile. So what was your average speed? If you just added the 2 speeds then divided by 2, you'd get 60. And you'd be wrong. Speed = distance over time. Distance is 1 mile, and time is one minute for the 30 MPH part, and 20 seconds for the 90 MPH part. and 1 mile taking a minute 20 seconds is 45 MPH.
