I mainly use a Darwin, or an eGo when out and about (not so worried about loosing the eGo or it being stolen). While bigger than cigs, I still find them very convenient and easy to use. Far easier than cig packs and lighters/matches

With these bigger batteries I also much enjoy using much larger catomizers that hold more juice (colossal/jumbo/tank sizes).
I do still like auto mini batteries for when I'm gardening, fishing, playing golf, etc....for 'mouth hanger' hands-free vaping. Auto batteries do not require pushing a button to vape. Drawbacks to the auto batteries are less control over how you draw, and if you drip with them or fill your own cartomizers you have to be extra careful not to get juice in them.
If you 'insist' on mini batteries...
Instead of a 'starter kit'
Consider getting a
multi-charger and a hand full of inexpensive mini batteries (probably from $10 to $12 each). I'm pretty sure cignot.com stocks the chargers, and myvaporstore.com usually has great deals on batteries..
The multi-charger mentioned is for ten 510 type mini batteries, but with adapters you should be able to safely put KR808 batteries on it (might just take a little longer to charge them). The unit also has slots to store up to 10 cartos/atties. You can also put eGo batteries on these but they definitely take longer to charge than with a true eGo charger.
As for what vaping platform to use on these 'mini' batteries...
Cartomizers are a good place to start.
These will usually hold around 1ml of liquid (some will hold far more), and the atomizer and liquid cartridge is built into a single piece. There are many different kinds of cartos out there. The main thing to consider is if you want hotter or cooler vape.
510 mini batteries tend be around 3.4v under load on average, and standard resistance cartos for these is in the 2.5 Ohm range. The batteries can safely handle cartos and atties from 2 Ohms up to 3 Ohms. The lower the resistance/ohms, the 'hotter' the atomizer inside will burn.
KR808 mini batteries tend to be around 3.7v under load on average, and cartos tend to be in the 3 Ohm range. To use LR stuff (down to 2 Ohms should be safe), it may require getting an adapter for 510 stuff to more easily find LR stuff in the 2 Ohm to 2.5 Ohm range for these,
Personally, for mini e-cigs, I like to use a 2.4 Ohm 510 Metal (avoid the clear ones, they don't last as long and can leak) CE2 or
Fluxomizer cartomizer with a 510>808 adapter on KR808-D1 batteries. Why? This carto type is good for hot quick draws like I take with real cigs. The slightly higher voltage of the 808 battery helps turn up the heat a bit. The draw is very open and easy to pull all the way into the lungs quickly. It only requires a 2 to 4 second burn to get a full hit. Battery life is great with these since they don't take but a short burn to get something out of them.
Hope this helps some...feel free to ask further questions.
