beginner at e-cigarettes...any reviews of Instead e-cigs..good or bad ?

Welcome! I had to go and do some research about Instead, I knew I had looked at it at some point. My first thought was "Oh,Oh!" I saw the price. You have enough parts and supplies there, however, to actually make two cigarettes. Then, cartridges and juice to fill your own, which is also good. In time you will shop around try out different flavors or un-flavored, it's all about your taste and what you enjoy. I expressely went for a mild tobacco flavor, but after it's all said and done, you come to really like some flavors, others not so much. Your vapor should be pleasant to you, nothing tastes like a Camel that isn't a Camel, you know?
I charger, and a kit box. So packaging and presentation are really eye candy, but impressive. All in all, kind of pricey.
However, these ecigs are really about a $40 item, and I know there are places probably less than that.
These are sort of like my first e-cig, I bought an NPRO, and paid $80 w/ shipping, so you know, probably you will get along just fine. Tell me how you like the vapor, if it is satisfying, or maybe too strong. Or too light.
Were you a smoker and if so a heavy, med, light smoker. And are you going to make you Personal Vaporizer 100% in place of cigarettes, or just what your goals are.

o.0 owch! The price just hurts! 175 for a starter kit! OMG! o.0. The good is it comes with a 15ml bottle of e liquid and an extra atomizer but not worth the price. If your looking for a e ciggy similar to a regular analog ciggy id say go for the DSE 901, M401 or Blucigs. Although blucigs are a fairly new company they have a pretty good product and the portable charging case is definitely a plus with them. But if you don't care too much about the size go for a penstyle. EIther the DSE 801 (very well praised) or the more recent M201.

Instead does carry a warranty, but it sort of stinks, you can return everything if you wanted within 30 days, but you pay shipping and $30 restocking fee, which is really overkill. They kinda got you once you order one.
Or, if one of the components dies, you have to send the part back before you can get it replaced. (Npro did that too!)
I would rate this company a rip-off, big time. Some people think that the price connotates high value, but those are the cheapest cigarettes on the market.

Well, since you asked. I'll go with knocking her prices for everything by half so it's more in line with other vendors.
Thanks for the replies...I am a very heavy smoker, currently using the Indian smokes which are pretty strong...usually two packs a day.
I really have high hopes that I can switch over to vaping because I already know I have lung issues.
I ordered from Instead because I wanted to stay within Canada ( no border hassles ) and when I tried to order from e-cigg canada,,they were out of stock and never replied to any e-mails...( didnt trust them after that )

added the juice................which I must say tastes bad !!!
dont get too much vapour....kinda disappointing....
have tried all morning....not ready to give up yet...but I'll probably order a different style of vapouriser from another company.
Also the fact that Instead has NO nicotine in its juice is a problem.

I am trying to find someone here in Toronto that sells in person..I have heard there are a couple of peOple who have stock.
A friend of a friend ( of course )has told me her husband got a kit that looks like a cigarette...comes with 50 prefilled cartridges and he has been smoking them with no problems for a day now....he paid 150.00
Am jealous
I"m not going to give up on this though, I really have to get offf the DKs !!!!

Just to clarify....I paid 114.00 total for the kit which seemed good because it had 2 batteries and 2 atomizers...charger plus e-juice,
that also included the postage.....
still have to say am not thrilled so far !

Just a few notes regarding our warranty: Please make sure you use both atomizers and both batteries. We want to ensure that you received four proper working pieces of hardware. If you aren't getting very good vapor, please feel free to contact me and we can work through why you might not be. Of course, if it is the hardware, we replace that within the first 30 days... just need to narrow down any issues first.
If you do find that you have an issue part, once you and I open up a dialog, we work through getting you what you need asap. Also, I am pretty generous about future order discounts if you do need to send back something that isn't working properly as that should not be at your expense. Customer service is our #1 priority.
Being a new eSmoker, if you have any questions, concerns, etc on how to use the unit, please always feel free to contact me. I am happy to sit down and have a "smoke" with you and walk you through it step by step. I am also obtainable by email almost 24/7.
Yes... the no-nicotine is a bummer. However, Health Canada has ruled that nicotine is a drug and any suppliers selling nicotine liquid must go through a certain process for both the liquid and the hardware... which we are working on.

ok, so for vapour production, perhaps I am misunderstanding this...I place three drops in cartridge..sometimes add one drop directly on atomizer...get a few ( 4-5 )decent puffs of vapour the it seems to be gone.....
How long should the three drops last for ?
I do also wicsh it had the red or orange led light...because that is how I gage that it is starting and its hard to see the blue light ( not that bright )

2-3 drops into your wick should be about 7-14 puffs, depending on how hard you drag. Now, as you have noted you are a heavier smoker, so I would put 2-3 drops into the cartridge... then let it settle into the wick for a second and then another drop or two. Until you get good vapor production on a new unit and get comfortable with this, I wouldn't suggest dripping directly on the atomizer.
Another thing to note, is that the "mouthpiece" that came on the atomizer does not have a cartridge in it, so if you have not disposed of those yet, you should so you don't get confused. You will be using the 5 cartridges that are individually wrapped in the small ziplock bag within your kit.
Final suggestion is to save the rubber stoppers and that small ziplock so you can "prefill" your cartridges for on the go.
As this is a new atomizer, you may need to break it in a little. Kind of like new shoes... it will get more comfortable as you progress and the puffing will come easier. For right now, just keep an eye on the temperature of the atomizer. Warm is good. Hot Hot is not.

We decided on the blue when we were out one day and I had people come up and ask me what in the world I was doing and hubby was almost removed from the building for smoking inside. I had a blue light... he had an orange light! We decided "Conversation vs. Confrontation" might be best!
And PS: If you start to get frustrated... please PM me the best number to call you and I will do it. Sometimes chatting back and forth through email is hard enough and through the forum is even harder!

hi lacey..your probably in bed now.....ha, I'm still vaping !!!!!
I used a syringe to place the juice all the way down the catridge..able to ensure the filler is truly soaking up the liquid...have gotten consistent amounts of vapes...smoking it more like a regular cigarette ( NOT PUFF, PUFF THEN DRAG... ) just long inhale and blow
out smoke clouds ha ha...just like you see on the u-tube videos....
have gotten at least 20 good puffs and it is exactly identical to smoking !!!!!! ( really good throat hits with each drag too ) actualy more than 2 now...smoking while I type...
maybe we need a video of this....it works fantastic !!!!!! Am so happy !!!!!!
