Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping, chinbags! If you're looking for good, strong throat hits, I do suggest strong, bold flavors like menthol / mint or spicy ones like cinnamon. These were the ones that helped me get over the analogs.
I agree. Got churchill and menthol large bottle with rivo 510 and find the menthol good. Will def look around at diff juices, saw a ton on liberty flights..if you could recommend other sites that deliver fast (im in ct) that would be great. I also agree about sample packs that will be my next venture and thanks for well wishes getting off analogues.. i need it.

In my earlier post I stated there is nothing wrong with your present PV and I stand by that statement. I'm only mentioning upgrades for down the road...most vapers eventually do upgrade. You really didn't make a mistake and 99% of the starter kits out there have a "weak" link. I still use atomizers to test new juices as they're easy to clean.

Right got it, thats what I thought. Its good to know I can upgrade down the road too. I could start on fifty more topics right now but Im going to stick with what I have for now although variable voltage sounds right down my alley

Also thanks for pics comparison!

Yes that is the product, thanks. Good to know i still have usable parts. So does a clearomizer or cartomizer as one unit replace the tank system (cart and atomizer) as two units? Ive tried reading on this before maybe I should go back to the books. Would you have any recommendations as to how I can make this work good for me? I should have started here first, starting with an outdated system hasnt helped

Since 510 is a standard, you can salvage a fair amount if you find things not working well. I still have my original cartos from my second kit (went through two before I hit what worked... oh well... it was still cheaper than cigs!). Still can (but rarely do) use them with the Twist.

I think clearos are good. I've gone almost totally to them. Yeah, they would replace the tank and atomizer. They're kind of a combo of both. Like these are the ones I'm using now: Vision Stardust 2.0 (in fact, that's the vendor I buy from which is why I had the link handy, but I post them just as an example, there are tons of good ones out there and lots of good vendors).

(Oh, also, I'm not sure the terminology is settled. I see VV calling them "2.0" but others have different designations. Get clearos that have replaceable heads like those at VV, there are sealed ones that are pain in the keester.)

I've come to really, really like clearos in general and can see why so many use them. They're easy in a lot of ways. Squirt juice in, screw on battery, vape. Pretty easy to clean and maintain. Replacement heads aren't expensive. And there are truckloads of YouTube videos to be found that can show you just about anything you want to know about the brand and type you use.

Welcome to the forum. I started out the same way. I wasn't getting a good hit out of the standard cartos that my kit came with. Luckily I had 510 batteries. I ordered a couple of clearomizers and they worked so much better. A lot of good advice in this thread. Good luck...
Thanks, glad to know Im not the only one!

What does the majority of users use cart a cartomizer or clearomizer or is that even a fair question because Im aware it comes down to personal choice

I sort of use each one for different purposes....depends on what juice Im vaping for the most part.

Thanks for the guide- it was very simple and clear for me.... As for the VV box Mod - Im a little out of my depth lol...one thing at a time lol. What does the majority of users use cart a cartomizer or clearomizer or is that even a fair question because Im aware it comes down to personal choice

My main vape on my Vamo is 2.4 ohms Vivis. On my Spinners and Twists I use the 1.8 or 2.4 ohms Vivi. On my Kgo (3.7 volts) I use single coil XL SmokTech cartomizers in a tank. There have been quality control issues with some cartos...the ones I use I bought in bulk a yr ago on sale.
Most have switched to tank style setups- whether it's a carto+ tank, a clearomizer or an RBA (rebuildable atomizer) as many find it's more convenient to use= less filling/ topping off.

Im probably going to use a lot of menthol, would clearomizers be better for this? Why are clearomizers more susceptible to damage?

I dont vape menthol but the bf does. He has used Stardust clearos and carto tanks when vaping them.
The only clearo Ive liked was the iclear30.

Some of my fruity vapes tend to taste muted in a clearo, so I use carto tanks for those. They seem to be a little more forgiving, at least in my opinion.

Thanks, yes and vaporeyes mentioned similar traits to look in clearomizers as you have.
I feel somewhat guilty that Im not jumping the hoops of cartomizers and more develops tanks as all you guys have. Instead Im jumping forward to clearomizers without the trials and tribulations of everything else.

I vaped menthol for about 10 months in my Vivi without issue. In Stardusts I vaped menthol for about 3 months without issue. I bought 50 grams menthol crystals for $11.00 and mix with PG and add to my juices accordingly. 50 grams prolly good enuff for the next 3 yrs LOL

Just so I stay on track here – Im planningon getting the vision vivi nova or maybe the vision stardust clearo– as long as they are made by vision. After that I don’t need anything else. I have lots of juice, a charger and a battery. So id be good right?
Now that Im looking through catalogues online, I can understand the products on offer esp carto tanks and what they mean. This is my last question, promise (kina), I understand how they are built differently but whats the benefit over clearo vs carto/tanks or is it just personal preference? Im starting to like the look of carto tanks…they look cool. At first this wasn’t a factor for me

Yes the only change you'd need to make is a diff juice delivery system.

Ask away. I work online and my workday ended 62 mins ago.

I used the Stardust but felt the quality wasn't there. Also found it was a tight draw and had to enlarge the airholes.
I really like carto+ tank. Realize as I've said carto quality is hit and miss.
From best vape to worst:
dripping on an atomizer. Many have switched to bottom feeders Mods- bottle in PV that's squeezed and juice drips on to atty. I borrowed a friends and it was an amazing vape.
RBA- rebuildable atomizer- there is a learning curve but coil and wick can be rebuilt
cartomizer+ tank- the longevity of a cartos depends on keeping it fully saturated and that's where the tank is of great benefit.
Clearomizers- very popular.
Cartridge+ atomizer- fair vape BUT problematic with leakage and attys need cleaning as they really get gunked up.
Like I've said it's VERY important to match up the right ohms. I can vape clouds of vapor with my Kgo using a 1.7 ohms cartomizer.

These are the cartos I use BUT I bought them from a diff vendor. CCV has rebranded them as Resurrectors

Clearos are going to be a lot easier for you to work with. Next time you order something, throw in a pack of 510 cartomizers and see how you like them. If you like it, you might want to try a tank but it won't change anything about the vape, only the length of time between refills. If you're using a Twist/Spinner, go for standard resistance or for fixed 3.7 volts, low resistance.

Just when I thought I was on my way....... Im a little stumped here – a juice delivery system as in additional piece I would have to attach to the clearo to act as a mouthpiece? If so can you link a good site for them, perhaps one that o sells the vision clearos? Thanks for your views on the different vap methods...Im still processing everything! lol

Thanks,Something simple would be easier for me right now I think. Ive got a lot of info today thanks to everyone here. But Im not ruling out purchasing a cartomizer/tank down the line. More research before I do that.

One step at a time. Maximum of five steps at a time if it helps to save on shipping costs.

It's all good chinbags...always wonder where people get their nicks from
A Juice Delivery System (holds and vaporizes the juice) is either a:
Clearomizer- head/ coil+ wick with no filler in a tank- head can be unscrewed and cleaned and or replaced.
Cartomizer- coil surrounded by filler in a metal tank- disposable
Your present system is 2 piece- atomizer that attaches to the cartridge and the battery

If buying cartomizer for use in a tank it must be stainless steel and have one or two punched holes in it.

Does this make it clear as mud?
