Greetings,

First of all I should say I've been searching for the past 30mins for the solution as this problem isn't rare. The search did showed up some possible ways to make it work, but so far I am not able to get it right

I got a wismec 300
I use the Aromamizer plus 30mm
The wire is a Geekvape SS 316l 24ga x2 + 32ga

I have used TC on SS before, on some simple 26ga single wire and had no issues with it.
After using exotic (FC / alien / juggernaut etc) kanthal wire I was curious to try the same with SS, especially after buying the Wismec 300 and Aromamizer Plus.

So, I built a 5 wraps closed-space dual coil with 4mm ID @0.14ohm. Made sure no hotspots where to be seen. Result: for a second the TC worked very weak, but soon after I got kicked back to Wattage.
When trying again, it immediately kicked me back to Wattage; didn't even had to chance to press fire. Right after selecting it on the RX300 it took me back to Wattage. Same story on the RX200

I checked for shorting, coil maybe touching the chimney, checked if the leads where tightly fit, no issue

After looking around on the net I read that spaced coils could be the answer, so I built a dual 4 wrap spaced (more wraps do not fit on the deck using spaced coils) 4mm ID coils with that 316l wire. 0.09 ohm.
Unfortunately I still got kicked out of TC SS back to wattage, on top of that I had an "atomizer low" message on the display

So,.. What do I do wrong? How can I make this work?

Is the wire faulty?
Too low in ohms for TC?
Should I lower the ID to 3mm?

My plan now was to try a 3mm ID coil, but perhaps someone can save me from possibly failing again if it's very obvious what I am doing wrong :)
Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like ohms too low for TC. I didn't even know that it would fire a 0.09 ohm coil in wattage mode. Of their website for specs:
0.05-1.5ohm for TC modes
Resistance Range: 0.1-3.5ohm for VW mode

So theoretically it should have been OK in TC, but you are blow for wattage hence the "atomizer low" warning. However, expecting a board to read a 0.14 ohm coil consistently for TC, especially with a low TCR of 316L, might be pushing your luck. I never build below 0.25 ohm for my TC builds and that's with DNA boards which are a lot better at resistance resolution.

I had the same problem so I contacted Wismec and asked them. Their response was that it has to be under .10 to stay in TC mode. If it's .10 or over it will default back to VW. I built lower ohm coils and stuck in there on SS mode and it stayed. Build lower than .10 and it should work.

I should go lower? Lol. Now I get confused
The spaced coil I tried was on 0.09 though...
Edit: I just screwed on the plus with the 0.09 spaced coils on the rx200
I click 3 times to make it go to TC, I select SS and click; right away back to VW

The specs do show this as well;

Output Mode: VW/TC-Ni/TC-Ti/TC-SS/TCR Mode
Output Wattage: 1-300W
Resistance Range: 0.05-1.5ohm for TC modes

Don't know how this is going to work. Never sent a pic over Tapatalk but we will see. This is a snapshot of the email I got back from Wismec about the whole temp control issue.

it says 1Ω not 0.1Ω...In other words, they have absolutely no idea why it isnt working...

I didn't even catch that until I read your response. I wrote her back and told her that all the coils I build are under 1 ohm and gave her the range of resistance that I vape and asked why it would be putting me back in wattage mode instead of keeping me in TC. We will see what she says on Monday.

Ok buddy. Glad to be of some help at least. Doubt you will get much back from them to be honest.

I would suggest just trying a SC first but doubt that is possible on your atty. Does it work in wattage mode? What resistance does it report in VW?

Is your wire really SS316L or 316? What is the mod assuming L or not??

Most likely explanation is a sub-optimal connection somewhere.
If you have some higher guage wire you could try that too I guess.

That info is complete nonsense :) If it is actually true, sell the mod or bin it immediately!

What is SC?

It works in VW mode. The resistance reads correctly. Like now I have .18 dual coil in the atty and it reads .18 on all 3 of my meters also. I haven't built a coil lower than .10 to try it yet. Been busy and haven't had the extra time to sit down and build a decent coil for it to see if what they said is true or not.

The wire is SS316L. The mod is a RX300. It happens on both of my RX200s mods too.

Forgot to mention that sometimes I can get it to fire in SS TC and vape for a while as long as the coil has been heated a few times and is hot but while it's in SS TC if I don't fire it for a while and allow the coils to cool down it goes to the default setting which is VW 20W. I was just playing with it in the SS TC with the .19 coil and it's working but like I said as soon as he coils cool down and I try to fire it, it will go back to the default VW 20W.

i know joyetech boards use refinement like the DNA boards. if you let your device sit for a while, does base res lower a tiny bit? have you tried the TCR mode (SS316 = 0092)? i would run through the commandments of good TC to rule out human error. all connections are clean and secure - 510 threads (atty and mod), post screws tight, spaced coils, making sure the atty you're using is suitable/ stable enough for TC, correct wire with correct TC mode/TCR, high enough wattage to stay in TC mode (this is the case with joyetech and DNA boards. if wattage is too low you'll get kicked out of TC).

TBH, the most common reason for getting kicked out of TC is because the device isn't seeing a significant rise in temp (coil res) to stay in TC. usually do to a false high base res or an intermittent connection.....somewhere.

I lost my patience and chucked fused Clapton kanthal coils in it.. I'll try it again somewhere next week

The 0.09 coils didn't work, spaced or closed-space, no difference. Also the 0.14 build; issue

Last night I spent some time making a new set of coils @ 0.12ohm, same issue. Atomizer low / kickback to VW was all that happened

This was all on the rx300 / Aromamizer plus.

I still have some other tanks and I might just try the Limitless Classic when I build some SS coils again. I however still cannot capture it why the hell it did work on the rx200 for some time (after I removed the battery and placed it back again).

Wheelin; try placing the atty with the SS coils on the rx200 and when it kicks you back to VW, open the battery door, take 1 battery out, place it back and fire it up again...
This action made is possible for me to vape On TC

On second thought, it might be only a solution for when you also get the atomizer low message. I had this message and the kickback to VW when it was on the rx200 and it got solved. When using the atty on the rx300 the problem was there once again.

I recently bough the rx300 and Aromamizer plus, perfect set to vape on, and I just want it to work on this
