What is the purpose of bellcaps? I recently saw a picture of a tube mech with a green bellcap atomizer on top. I really liked the looks of it. Can anyone explain the purpose and possibly recommend a setup with a bellcap? My go to build is usually a nine wrap 28 gauge dual coil around a little blue screwdriver. Any help is greatly appreciated!

With a kanger subtank with a acrylic (PMMA) bell cap you have to make sure the coil is not too high in the RBA or too big of a diameter coil or you'll have a nice plastic vape. I experienced that lovely plastic vape and melted the piece that sticks into the RBA cap. The stock subtank has that piece made out of metal so you don't notice the coil being too high as easily but your airflow will suffer and you'll burn the wicking.

With a glass tank, the glass part is usually a simple glass tube with:
- an internal diameter
- an external diameter
- a length

If the glass breaks, all you need to replace it is a glass tube of similar dimensions; depending on the tank design, there may be a lot of tolerance for the external diameter.

With a plastic tank, it's simpler to just form the whole top and tank part out of plastic.

Some Aspire glass tanks are of a bellcap sort of shape; that kind of shape out of glass is of course harder to replace
