In addition to the benefits of not inhaling over 4000+ carcinogens - which is the main benefit to give up the analogs, forget about what the long/short effects of vaping may or may not be, I say that being a vaper is being part of a revolution.

For one thing we are defying the governments and specifically the health branches of the government, anti-smoking groups, etc, etc.

The government hates us because they are no longer getting their paws on our money.
The FDA & Health Canada can't stand us because most of us are still nic addicts.

These groups make me sick: They want us to quit smoking and when we do they still find something to b!t3h to us about.

Like my Dad used to say, "Go pound salt!"

I think we have become a cancer on those that have taken advantage of us for so long.

The government. Preaches how they want to be "smoke free" but all they do is pass stupid laws that infringe on our civil rights of where we can and can't smoke. The whole time collecting massive amounts of tax and profiting off tobacco sales more than the tobacco companies.

The tobacco companies. For years they were able to play mad scientist with additives to their products, to make us smoke more of them. Their was no alternative product to use for nicotine addiction, so the more addicted, the better for them. Lets see how they like some not so friendly competition from a product far superior and much safer than theirs.

The pharmaceutical companies. The ones that produce "smoking cessation" products that don't work, at a rip off price. e-cig are not rocket science, they simply provide a level of nicotine we as ex-smokers need to replace cigs. The pharmaceutical companies could have provided the same thing, a higher does of nicotine. But they didn't. Why? Because it is more profitable for them if you try to quit for the 100th time coming back to buy their product, than it would be if their product worked the first time and you never needed it again.

To the above 3, you will get what you deserve. Hit in your bottom line from those you have been taking advantage of for so long. Just try and stop this. What are you going to do, throw us in jail for 20 years? That's fine, that's 20 years I already got back from you by not smoking, and for everyone one of us, there will soon be another 10 in our place.

I would have to chime in on the noticeable benefits I got from switching after 20ish years of smoking. The most noticeable I really liked was no stink clothes, house, car, and self. After nearly 3 years now, I have reduced my epilepsy meds by half, more energy, no more morning cough... and probably the biggest plus... my wife REALLY likes that I switched if you catch my drift.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I had pretty much the same discussion with 2 friends over coffee at Tim's tonight. In the end everyone wins but "us". The Canadian government still gets its tax revenues and phara companies still get ridiculous profits from quit smoking products that aren't terribly effective and have brutal side-effects.

I'm somehow reminded of what happened in the music industry 10 years ago. The record labels refused to embrace digital music technology, resulting in rampant piracy in the form of MP3s. What would have been interesting, but is little more than a thought experiment, is if tobacco companies embraced e-cigs and branded the e-juice. Imagine picking up 30ml of Belmont or 50ml of DuMaurier at the corner store...

...wishful thinking.

I've only been vaping for about a week 'religiously' since i got my starter kit. I had a pack of camels left over from a carton and decided to only allow myself 3 analogs a day. Very confusing on the mind however..But I did notice some small differences; wasn't smelling and tasting like crap after vaping compared to smoking the analogs...playing hockey was like night and day for me ( i'm 25 and was only a 2 1/2 pk/wk guy). So that has been the most immediate change.

I'm thinking it can only get better, esp. on the bank account! Being a stressed out college student I was skeptical of vaping until i gave it a shot. Now guys in my program grumble to me that they are ' going out for a smoke'...while I smile and 'light' one up in class! -that parts awesome!!

Yep, and imagine paying $60 for that 30ml instead of the $18 we pay now once they add all sorts of taxes to it...

Yeah...I really really dont understand these people that want vaping legal. Maybe Im missing something here...tell me if I am. Right now, I can have juice delivered straight to my door for $18.50 less a 10% discount, in two days. If this stuff was legal and controlled by the government and the drug companies, the price would least triple. Why would the wonderful internet providers want that? They would have to charge the same price. Then why would I order online instead of running to the drug store? I think things are perfect exactly how they are right now.

I'm only on day 6 of no analogs but already I can feel I am breathing way easier, and cleaner! Sense of smell is back as well as heightened sense of taste.

Another benefit I've found is I'm drinking a helluva lot of water while vaping...actually getting the required daily dose now, and I feel way more energized.

And of course, I don't stink anymore! The GF loves that!
