I've read so much about low/standard/high resistance atomizers my head is spinning, and I still can't tell which would be the best atomizer to get for my Joye Ego XL (900 mAh). I don't want to burn out my battery, I've already killed one of the standard eGo batteries but I don't know if it was the atomizer that did it or the battery was a dud. I had bought a five-pack of 510 atomizers from a supplier but I don't remember what it was I ordered, unfortunately, and they look just like the same atomizers that came with my eGo. I only have one of those left so it's time to order some replacements.

I have found a place I can get either a Standard (2.2 ohm) or a High (2.8 ohm) resistance atomizer at an affordable price. Out of those two, which one would be the safest?

Thank you.

Low Resistance atomizer will stress the eGo's electronics and possibly cause premature battery failure, according to Drozd, who I consider to be a reliable source.

I've used LR Attys on my eGo-types. But, with the information posted by him I think it's likely not a good idea. I quit using them, except on larger battery mods.

I just finished reading through a really long thread that said a standard Joye atomizer is 2.2 ohms, so it looks like I'll be safe in getting the standard one and not get the high resistant one. It looks like this supplier I'm looking to buy from doesn't sell the low-resistant so either choice would be safe. Thanks everyone!

Continue spreading the word  Many folks use LRs on their eGo batts which as Drozd states and many more folks cannot handle the power demand of LR attys, which will indeed lead to premature battery failure. Some folks are willing to vape in this fashion for vaping Nirvana, and that is cool too.

You are partially right, and it does go with Nirvana and acceptable risk. However...

For those who want the "real" experience the LR has to offer use 'em on a battery capable of providing the necessary current. e.g any IMR 14500 or larger will provide the necessary current to allow the LR to develop its full potential, not a diminished delivery an eGo batt provides.
