Definitely agreed here. I stepped cautiously into the world of RBA/RDAs and in a few short weeks, I now own 4 and have a couple more on the way. It is almost like rediscovering vaping.

You really do find out that what you thought was vaping, really and truly was not. I was blown away first time I got the wick and coil set up just right.

I can't wait until I can second that. Seems amazing. What have you discovered this is so new with the rba's vs. clearos or cartos?

for me its a toss up...there are good points to be made about how easy the RSST is and i truly dig mine...BUT what made it easy was my experience pulling my hair out with an AGAT...The AGA-t taught me to prep my mesh well, wrap with consistent pressure and to be sure all the coils were touching the wick evenly, and foremost it taught me to keep my wick "centered" in the wick hole and off the floor of my tank while still wrapping the coil and tightening the micro nuts...

Had i not had the aga-t prior to the RSST i would not have known how friendly the RSST is...

So the best "beginner" RBA from and aspect of learning the art of rebuilding would have to be the AGA-t...it will teach you how to do it right or suffer taste and resistance fluctuations...but once you "get it" it is awesome.

Now if you dont care about all that go ahead and get a RSST set it up and off you go...but everything from then on will seem hard to deal with.

just my :2c:

I know I made a fuss about the RSST being the best beginner RBA...but I have thought about it and its too easy.

I have to agree. Stumbling with the AGA at first is a better way to go. Especially if you plan on moving up in RBA's. Would have hatted gettin the RSST first and thinking that was the way. Moving on to a Zen or Cobra and thinking I wasted my money and that they were crap. So I strongly agree with that point.

I'm glad you guys brought this up because I've been thinking about this. If these, like rsst and aga-t work so good at this price why would one want our need to move up to a zen or cobra? What is it about t them that would make them worth the cost? I'm sure build quality is part of it. Yes? Anything else noobs should know? Thanks.

i know nothing about rba's, but im sure comparing an ego twist to a provari would be a somewhat similar comparison. while the ego twist is more than enough performance for some, others need that extra performance to be satisfied

Received my first RBA, yesterday. It is an AGA T2. Had it up and running within the first hour and a half. I used a #400 SS mesh with a 5/4 wrap and it came in at 1.4 ohms. It has been running like a champ all day, today. Tomorrow, I'll try a 6/5 wrap and see if I can raise the resistance a bit more. Gotta love this thing.

So yeah, I will have to agree with everyone about the RSST and what you should get first. However, I'm thinking either way, no matter what you get, whatever is the "first", will be hard as hell. That's my current RSST testimonial. I got it like 3 hours ago. I've been pulling out my hair like crazy. I can't tell you how much mesh and wire I've wasted in that small amount of time. I finally got one put together well giving me a steady 1.8ohm. It vaped awesome, until.. I dropped it. Turned the vamo on, check the ohm resistance, and got 9.9? wth. I checked everything it looked the same, what gives? With tears in my eyes, I took everything apart, and rolled another mesh wick. Then I randomly got the thought to try another atty. Same result. Apparently I tightened the screw down too much and the center contact pin was depressed too far. So took a nail and gently pulled the pin up a bit and my vivi nova worked fine.

Sigh of despair... I keep telling myself that this is worth it, and it's only day one. Note to self: Have oodles of wire and mesh on hand.

PS. Torch the stuffin outta that mesh before you insert it into the wick hole. Then do the pulsing. Has worked for me, on my single successful build...

random question: what does it mean when you say you do a 5/4 wrap?

When looking at the coil, one side will have 5 visible lines (coils/wraps) the other side will show 4. Look at the left side of my coil... you see 5 wraps... the right side shows 4... make sense?
