Best big, cheap custard?

IMO
Creme brulee is a custard with a caramel or burnt sugar topping. So CB is sweeter than CLS. ACB is a CB base and has even extra caramel and a NET added.
I didn't care for ACB until it hit 3 months. Also found IMO especially ACB to be tank specific. As in it tastes fantastic in an erlkonigin, not so good in a sub tank. Finding that a lot with the custards.
Also much prefer CB over CLS. I tend to like stuff sweeter.
Have some Charlies Custard steeping and ITC and V2 on the way.

ok at 2 weeks Capellas v1 is really shaping up. Night and day difference. The flavor of the v1 and v2 and nowhere near each other. GVC clone made with v2 tastes _just_ like flan, which is fine by me. GVC clone with v1 is as good as any commercial custard I've vaped. Both of these are staying in my rotation.

Capella's v2 undergoes a radical flavor shift around 3 weeks. Fresh, the GVC clone was very dulce de leche forward, which was great, it tasted just like flan. The v1 version was much more traditional custard vape-y.

Today I vaped a tank of the v2 version, and the dulce de leche receded, a lot, and the overall profile of the juice became decidedly more custard-y. Maybe not as rich as v1, but just as good in its own way. I like it, and I'll be keeping my eye on both of these. It is nice to know that v2, which is "safer" than v1, is equally tasty if different in flavor.

I never wanted to get into diy because I don't have the time and patience to do the trial and error involved to get a good recipe. You motivate me. If I have a good recipe I might diy I'm just not ready to experiment. Especially since I have small kids in the house. Vapenatein you motivate me. Lol.

it's so easy to mix something up that isn't very good, and it's just as easy to give up before you tweak something ok into something great. In the case of this GVC clone recipe, it's fantastic as is with either version of Capella's. I am tweaking it at home, trying to come up with something even better, but both versions as is are already absolutely better than any commercial custard I've vaped. Charlie Noble is, at this point, probably the only commercial custard I'd buy again after vaping the GVC clone.

I'm in school right now and plan to be for a while- I barely have time for what I need to do. When things aren't that way I will probably enjoy diy.

No, but I am going to add a DIY review section to my site, and when I review a DIY recipe I will list the flavorings used and percentages.

Honestly if you've never mixed before, you can get going with a 50-100ml graduated cylinder, and a 5ml glass luer lock syringe. The rest is ingredients and bottles. If you get into it you can buy more stuff, but you can make anything with those two items and it's a low cost to find out if DIY is for you. I do recommend glass. Downside fragility, upside the printing doesn't wear off as easily as plastic. Plus they clean up better and handle dishwasher temps.

Yeah, I thought about DIY, I wouldn't mind the actual mixing. I would rather start out with tried and true recipes. I have researched recipes and its recipe overload...lol. And I would definitely use glass and purchase high quality supplies, etc. Its the recipe part that has me hesitant. Not sure if that makes sense...

It makes sense. It's easy to make something "meh", but when you make something better you're like, wow, not only is this better, I can make it for like $15/liter

I have a 3 year old and it is the exact reason I haven't gotten into DIY myself. My wife has no problem with mixing just flavors if I wanted to, but wants no part of high strengh nic base anywhere in the house/garages. So, I did what any smart person would do, I talked my buddy into getting into DIY. He just started up last week, but I have been constantly feeding him recipes I want to try and supplying him with cashflow to order specific things for myself. It's a win/win.

I haven't gotten my initial order in yet but the ITCVapes thread is over 500 pages long.

There are members here huffing metric .... tons of their juices, ITCV has several custardy ones.

It's flavor and price must not suck with people buying 120 ml bottles of it at a time.

Well, i can get a pretty good custard from a local juice maker for about $20/60ml and occasionally 120s for $30 on sale but its 20PG/80VG

Look up Laclede Street Juice Company. I thought it was better than Charlie Nobles custard by far and almost as good as one of the $22/30ml custards.

So yes, i dont think $14/30ml is cheap in my book but it is reasonable for a very good custard.

vaping pretty much nothing but GVC Clone v1 and v2 any more. v1 is the rich, egg-y custard variety, and v2 tastes just like flan IMO. Love them both. Also have a batch of Steve O's fermenting so I can see how I like the added graham cracker and butter notes.

Now I'm working on cloning Charlie Noble Tripoli, first batch was a dud but it showed me which way to go
