Finally figured out the diffence- I ran the coils perpendicular and raised higher so the air had to go between the two coils- like a heater.
I know it doesn't make sense, logically, that the direction of the coil would make a difference; but, myself and another guy on the provari thread made the same discovery lol

These May help you see what I mean by height- I use the tool I wrap the coil around to pull and set the coils height and position them where that airtime flows through them.

First go got a major flood like never before. Ended up draining the tank and re filling. I over filled and just would not clear and stay clear. Wasted couple ml of my best juice

I flooded mine out the first few times I filled it; then I just got the hang of it and kind of instinctively know when to stop so that doesn't happen

If I'm running only 28 gauge, I like to twist it and 7 wraps on 5/64 bit equating to 0.8-1.0ohms recommended 10-12 watts for DNA devices

My favorite build on both RDA and RTA is the Fat B*stard coil build: Twisted 32 gauge with 0.5 flat ribbon coil 7 wraps on 5/64 bit at 1.3 ohms. 15 watts recommended for DNA devices.

Wicking the cotton is actually the most crucial part. It cannot be too thin or too thick. Too thin = burnt taste, too thick =flooding occurs. IMO
