Just got my first rda and box mod over the weekend. Segelei 150 and velocity tobeco clone Had first coils built by a local shop flavor was incredible but way hot vape dual 24 gauge 8 wraps came out to 0.4 ohms. Since then I have built a few. First was dual 28 guage vertical 7 wraps 2mm 0.9 ohms and currently using a 28 gauge twisted dual coil 5 wraps 3.5mm 0.5 ohms and vapor and flavor production is about the same. Have good clouds but flavor is muted.

I would think the twisted 28awg would give better flavor in a dual coil config 3.5mm with an 9half/8full wrap at about 60watts (cooler vape with better flavor lowest heat flux of 133 mW/mm²) to about 90watts (hotter vape with more vapor production heat flux of 200 mW/mm²). Twisted having grooves and valleys will vaporize more liquid than just normal straight wire, and needs be calculated as a quad coil due to 4 wires in parallel only twisted. If that is to warm for you even still, check out
http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp is an excellent coil wrapping simulator. Also, flavor is also affected by airflow and chamber size of your atomizer, a bit tighter airflow in a narrow reduced chamber will give a warm, but very flavor saturated vape, where a wider larger chamber with very loose airflow will produce a larger vapor cloud but flavor is sacrificed due to the amount of air to flavored vapor ratio is lower and can potentially give a cooler vape.

Building coils with more wraps makes sense. I think I keep trying to pigeon hole myself into a certain ohm level on my builds.
