What I really meant was buying from Diet smokes, their 510, any issues?
I bought my first 510 kit from them back in April and it's still going strong. I placed another order last week for a spare atty and some juice. Good service and fast shipping.

I still get the occasional leaky cart which I believe is probably a manufacturing defect, these don't fit tight. Most of my carts fit snug and don't leak unless they have been over filled.

DietSmokes, in general, is a fantastic vendor to purchase from. I use my Joye 510 all day long. DietSmokes has some unique parts for it, like the red-ringed attys and whistle-tip carts. I am hooked on Parked's Nicquid, particularly the cappuccino flavor (I almost hesitate to add that...I don't want any competition in acquiring it). ;-) One of the things I like about DietSmokes is the sheer variety of models and parts that he carries...sort of a one-stop shopping kind of deal.

And most importantly, Parked is a great guy to business with. He responds very rapidly to e-mails/questions/problems, and ships ultra-fast (he must have like *no* life outside of his vape-shop). Top-notch customer service there.;)

Yeah, I'll totally back that up. I've purchased 510 kits from a number of places and so far dietSMOKES is the best. The shipping was quick, the packaging was perfect and the product was outstanding. For some reason the atomizers I got, both with the kit and stand alone (red-ring "Scorpion" versions exclusive to dietSMOKES,) work way better than any others I've ever owned. When one of them arrived DOA, Parked replaced it within 24 hours. The customer service was top notch. I'm not sure where the negativity towards Parked and dietSMOKES is coming from. I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat... and will.

And this 23 flavor is pretty intresting. SOmetimes I think I need 2 510's cause I just want to smoke the hell out of the thing lol. Park kicks ...!!! I'm not saying that just cause he lives in Texas either.

HockeyRob,

I think that you need two 510's too!

I switch off with either an extra 510 or my Janty Stick (manual, 801) because I toke frequently enough that the 510 atty gets too hot and needs to take a break to cool down. I have many 510 batteries, most are manual, just one has an automatic switch. The auto battery I keep stored away for back-up; it's the manuals that get all of the daily usage. I can't imagine I would buy any e-cig that has an automatic battery on it--the manuals are just so much better.

If I were to match up all my bats and atomizers, I'd have 11 complete 510s. I'm hooked on this thing. It's the best e-cigarette I've ever owned. Until something better comes along, this is the clear winner.

And yeah, those red ringed Scorpion atomizers are segg-see. Very cool looking indeed. I was out vaporing at a show I was playing last weekend (I'm a bassist in a rock band) and people spotted it from across the room. "Hey! That's one of those e-cigarettes, isn't it??" Pretty cool. The all black versions don't garner as much positive attention. Not even the Titan version (gold band) seems to catch the eye as much. It's pretty sweet.

Yeah I'm still so new at this. I think 2 would be good. I'm not usre if you can reuse old carts or if your supposed to change the packing in them or what. Probably gonna order a big bottle of jucie with a higher nicotine rate in it which might help me not want to vape the hell out of my 501. I know my batts last about 3 or 4 hours without constantly a whole lot. THinking of that usb passthrough as I hear the batt on it last even longer

HockeyRob,

Here's some pointers:

1. Top up your carts with e-liquid until they stop working so well or the flavor "turns". The stuffing will loose it's fluffiness and wicking capability over time. Some people rinse out their cart packing, let dry and re-use.

2. Many peeps re-stuff their cart housings with fresh stuffing (poly-fill, fluval, tea bags, coffee filter, etc.). Everyone has an opinion on the best cart stuffing. There are lots of threads here on ECF to help you with that.

3. Some folks buy so many empty carts with a huge order from one of the Chinese suppliers (cost-effective) that they just chuck them after they've been well-used and don't bother with re-stuffing.

[I am somewhere between #2 and #3...I have tons of carts, and I've been discarding the used stuffing after many top-ups and rinsing out and saving the housings. Someday I'll do a massive batch re-stuffing, probably with fluval]

4. Be cautious with the higher-nic liquids. Just pick whatever strength works for you without craving cigarettes. My first week of vaping saw me with some headaches. 18 mg or 24 mg works for me, especially when I pimp it up with some extra Lorann flavoring (for some of my blander-bleah liquids). Like many, I plan/hope to decrease my nic concentration over time.

5. Some folks love their 510 passthroughs, some are less than over-joyed at the way they perform. I belong in the second camp: my 510 performs far better on a fresh manual battery than on a passthrough. There are also many threads on ECF about the 510 passthroughs.
The PureSmoker passthough (has adapters to fit any model e-cig) is supposed to be the end-all-and-be-all of passthroughs...I have one on order, but they currently have a big back-log of orders, so it'll be a while before I'll be able to report back on that.
My Janty Stick has a direct USB to mini-USB cable, and that works very well for vaping-while-charging.

Keep on hanging out here on ECF for tips, tricks, and support.
Parked is a great vendor and resource, Texan or no. ;)
Vaping can seem like a high-maintenance hobby, but I've been having a blast with it (I am a tweaker and concocter by nature to begin with).
And I'm off of those stinking, frikkin analogs...Hurrah! :D

Surf Monkey,

Now you've got me wanting some of Parked's scorpion attys! I'm placing an order with him once he gets my favorite liquid back in stock in industrial-sized quantities. My 510 is a TECC Titan, black with gold band, and the first thing out of my work-buddy's mouth when he saw it was "It looks just like an eye make-up thingy!" Jeesh!

I love bass guitar, and my favorite bassist is Geddy Lee. I think a bassist on stage with a scorpion 510 would be just...way too cool!

I don't know why those atomizers would be any different from any others, but for some reason they're performing far better than the others I have. Maybe he just got lucky and got a great batch? Whatever the reason, I stocked up on them. They look cool and they work great.

I'm a HUGE Geddy Lee fan too, but my favorite bassist is John Entwhistle. The 510 goes well with my gear. I play a black Rickenbacker 4003 (1984 vintage) and a black Ampeg amp. I usually wear black on stage too, so the black 510 fits right in. The red stripe really stands out against all that black.

I'm still sitting here in shock, but after reading this thread I decided to add up what I've spent so far on vaping:

Electro-Nic-Stix (Jason): $519.13
Johnson Creek: $132.45
Pure Smoker: $34.95
Ruyan Direct: $48.00
_______
Total: $734.53

I must be crazy! And this is all since...May 24th, exactly one month ago. Is there some sort of therapy available somewhere for me? :hubba:

Jason is a kick-... supplier. Six separate orders, 5 of them perfect in every way. The 6th? Just ordered that a few hours ago. Nothing DOA, everything still works fine. All of my hardware is 510 equipment. This is for two people, mind you, but still. Oh well, my major purchasing is done...I think. I have my eye on that Prodigy. My order with Pure Smoker is for the 510 PT. I'm sorry, but the standard one with the battery built in sucks. I'll make it up eventually, though...no more analogs at $50 dollars a carton.

Hello. My name is CardinalWinds and I'm a vapoholic... :p

I hear ya brother! I haven't dared to add up what I've spent so far...wait a sec...$1021.93 since May 20th!!!
And that is for my own use, not even counting accessories bought locally. But, if I stopped buying now, I would have enough of everything to last me at least a year (I think).

Did you ever have a chance to compare the "wide-band" vs "thin band" on the 510's ??

I'm getting ready to order another 510 and am curious about the differences between brands from different vendors. Not that I don't LOVE my first 510....but you know how it is....the enemy of good is better !!! Ha Ha

Have you noticed any difference between vendors ?
