Try adding a little of premixed juice to your homemade. I have been experimenting with many tobacco flavours and find if, it is a little weak on flavour, I add 20% store bought DK-Tab or RY4 and the bland stuff tastes great. Taste is a hard one though. I've tried a few recipes others have said are great and I don't like them.

It's a personal thing...for instance one thread, I was reading, bashed DK but it is generally my favorite...maybe because the harshness emulates real cigs more me...who knows.

Sorry pal, but that's cheating, and a gross infringement of the diy rules around here, now lets hear no more of such unethical behaviour..

:D ..I do it all the time.

Hi All,

I ordered most of the FlavorArt tobacco type flavors. I missed the Cuban Cigar and Dark on my order. I was looking for what tasted like the Marlboro flavor that comes in pre-made carts. So far, its a no go for me. They do have some nice ones. The Cowboy is supposed to be it, not to me. Seems flowery.......
Taste is so subjective. It says 1drop to 6-10ml, I didnt get much at 1 drop per ml.
Maybe an off batch?

On the absolute......its strong. A tad to much and most will agree its like licking an ashtray. Can't imagine it needing dirty socks with it!

I put it in everclear (love living in a state it is legal in..lol) I got a good amount on a toothpick then put it in about 6mls of EC... then I put more in... then a couple drops of that in some base... then more into the base till I could not stand it and hubby's going it needs more I can not taste anything... I think his taste bud are just fried, have been since I met him years and years ago (I can pick up on a lot subtler flavors then he can)

Actually, if he's still on analogs, thats not all that uncommon.
Taste sensitivity really changes when you come off them.
There is very little to no nic in most absolutes. The website usually states the content.

You might try a toothpick drop in 5ml and let him sample it. add more if needed and if it goes to much, dilute it a tad. Then smooth the rough with EM.

Absolutes do have one problem. As good as they sound, they are usually produced before any curing of the tobacco occurs. So, the flavor is raw tobacco and not the wonderful flavors we became accustomed to from air drying, flue cured and so on.
Adding something like FlavorArt to achieve this might be possible once he can taste something thats close to what he desires.

A good tobacco flavor seems to be the hardest to replicate and the formulas by companies are more secret than who shot JFK.

The above comment is more true than thought. If you cant find a flavor you enjoy, whatever it is, you wont stay with it. We smoked for pleasure, whatever it was, and not for medicinal tastes.

When I use TA I put two literal drops in a 10 ml bottle of vodka. (I also add 1/4 tsp Ethyl Maltol crystals to this bottle. It can take a while for it to dissolve. Just be patient.) Then I use one or two drops of this mixture for each ml of my pg or vg based nicotine liquid. I got this from Scubabatdan! He's the greatest!

In any case, I find that I really do need to have a dilute mixture of this that I later add to my liquid base. If I don't the mixtures are quite variable and I'm unable to replicate my results.

I do think the FlavourArt flavors are a much easier way to get a tobacco flavor.

I have found that my preferred flavors of liquid have changed over time.

Keep experimenting!

:)

I have since started mixing the TA solution 50/50 with the seedmans commercial tobacco "Concentrate" very close to the Marb flavor IMHO. And then using this combination to my unflavored ejuice. Only takes about 1-2 drops per ml (3-5%) and I LIKE IT :)
I have also added 2 drops of the flavorart turkish to 10ml and it gives it a subtle smoky flavor.

I have a bunch of plain juice and all these people Ive gotten started on ecigs want to start out with tobacco. What is the best way to make a good tasting DIY tobacco?

My newest favorite tobacco flavour is homemade. I added 4 oz of VG, 8 oz of PG, 2 oz vodka and 15 Skoal Bandits(Canadian - I think they are called Snus everywhere else) Mix it all together and let it sit for two days.

You can mix it 50/50 with plain 36 and get a decent 18 mg vape.

I have about 30 other flavours so I can't help but experiment a bit. I put 50% homemade stuff and 50% plain 36 in a 6mL dropper bottle then add 2 drops of caramel or brandy flavour or both.

Been playing around with diffferent ones for awhile and have discarded about 20 disgusting mixes. This one is the best one I've used...hence, the quantity. (There's enough stuff in the mix I described to last 48 weeks...)
When you find one you like though...why not...
