I vape 100% VG only and use Boge LR carto's in a carto tank. The VG I buy is thinned for me by the vendor and they even add extra flavor to compensate for the distilled water used to thin. My carto's last a long time with this e-liquid. I think it also matters what flavorings are used, as many complain that the darker liquids clog things faster. Even the coffee and chocolate flavors I buy from my supplier are almost clear, so this has never been an issue for me either. I think it really depends on what (or who's) e-liquids you are using.

What juice vendor are you using? This sounds like a great option for solving VG wicking problems. Pre-thinned and flavor boosted! :2cool:

I use 100% VG with no added things to dilute it. I love it on my variable volt mods- the Infinity from Notcigs and KrimsonKustom's mods ( a nice guy here on the forums that makes nice box mods). I use the drip method and I only have to drip every 10 puffs or so because the VG is so nice and thick! On long car rides, I use a cart though with foam so I don't get in an accident. At 4-5 volts, it's amazing vapor and flavor:)

Ok...here is what has come up in this thread so far for a good PV for VG:

  • Silver Bullet 3.7v
  • Puck Mod 4.8v
  • Go-Go 3.7v
  • Infinity Mod vv
  • KrimsonKustom Mod vv

This seems to lean toward a better experience with the 3.7v and higher for VG? Does the higher voltages bring out the flavors with VG? Again trying to decide on my first PV to buy as my wife is tolerating me bumming hers.

We got in the Alien Visions juice (Irish Cream, Boba's Bounty, Flue Cured, Raf-a-licious, Caramel Kicker and Gorilla Juice) this weekend and wow...what a difference in quality! I really like them all. If I had to pick a favorite I would lean a bit towards the Gorilla Juice with the Boba's a very, very close second.

Back to picking my first PV for VG. :2cool:
I guess I am leaning towards the Riva 510 now. Madjack recommended the Riva 510 in my intro thread and it looks like a solid choice for about $30?

From my many hours of reading and reading here on ECF it appears to run at the preferred 3.7v and all the groovy 510 carto recommendations from earlier in this thread will fit it nicely.

Am I doing the right thing by choosing the Riva?

I use 100% VG and do not thin it - but some premix liquid seems to be too thick - been getting DIY from juicy liquid but having some ordering problems with them so probably looking for a new vendor, just put in an order with AlienVisions and GoodProphets - we will see how they are.

I just recently upgraded my e-cig - had been using a 501 for years. Then I got a tornado from totally wicked (great starter kit price) and then I got a couple of these new atomizers (3 for $13) and it is killer! So much more vapor and the new atomizers hold enough liquid for an entire day of constant vaping.

These are working great for me

started with this kit:
Wicked-TORNADO E-NIC or Electronic Nicotine Imitation Cigarette

then I added these awesome mega dual coil atomizers:
Tornado Mega Dual Coil Cartomiser (3 pack) 1.5ohm

those attys make a world of difference! I'm going to stock up on them.

RandaPandaBear - I am thinking the higher voltages may bring out some flavors in certain VG juices. For example: I am wondering if Boba's Bounty flavor changes/improves at say 4v or higher? I only have my super mini (RN4081) to try it with. I am guessing my super mini is probably around 3.2v under load? Too many unknown variables for me to really answer.

This is a question I asked earlier in this thread. Hopefully some of the more experience vapers will chime in. :p

After reading and researching and reading some more here on ECF I decided to get a Joye eGo. I thought this would be a good choice for a PV for VG. :2cool:

I noticed with my Super Mini RN4081 that when it first comes off the charger it gives a heavy hit. These first hits are almost overwhelming, harsh even. After a bit it mellows out and gives nice hits with great flavor. Towards the end of the battery life it starts to bottom out giving very weak hits with little to no flavor. It is simply not consistent over the course of the 2-3 hours I get off the battery. There is a short window of about 45 minutes or so when it vapes well...kinda...a little bit nice.

The batteries on the RN4081 are not regulated so this makes sense.

I liked the idea of having a regulated PV. I also seem to prefer the cooler vape and don't like a big TH. The eGo with its 3.4v regulated battery seemed to fit the bill and falls in the mid range where the vapor is tasty to me without the harshness.

I got my eGo today and am absolutely thrilled with the nice consistent vape this thing produces! Speaking of bananas...Gorilla Juice is a completely different experience on the eGo vs the Super Mini. The flavor is much better, cleaner and tons of vapor. Boba's Bounty taste like Coco Puffs! I never got these results on my Super Mini, at least not for long.

Big thanks to all the members here at ECF! I learned some nice tricks from the great threads here including blowing the primer out the atty so I don't get the nasty machine oil taste. I also knew how to fill the cartridges and top-off/atty drip to maintain flavors. I also know how the fill the cartos to get an even juice distribution with the thermometer sling trick. I knew how to charge the batteries the first time to condition them correctly. I am a happy VG vaper! :vapor:
