If you think VG liquids have no throat hit than i must ask...what VG liquids have you tried?

VG throat hit > PG throat hit any day of the week

VG gives a full throat hit. You don't just feel it on the inhale...you feel it in your lungs and coming out. PG is just a harsh burn with a tiny poof of vapor to follow.

All i vape is 100%VG @ 18mg btw.

Alien Visions and Copper Creek are the main high VG juices Ive tried...and they are the best of the best...

...absolutely no throat hit.

Bobby Martin, I know you said you were new - but for future reference please be aware: It's NOT smoking!

To refer to vaping as smoking is both scientifically and emprically wrong, and also does great harm to public understanding of what these marvelous and literally life-saving devices do and how they function.

I say that to others all day long, then do the same error when writing! Sorry!

I've vaped pure 100% pure vg liquids......either AVE juice, 60 mg vg cut down with some Walmart VG. What I found is VG is too sweet to me. It would be good for fruit flavored diy, but none of my tobaccos or just vaping pure VG ever tasted quite right.

So I bought some PG base and mix it about 70 pg/30 vg........... I like the taste of vaping this unflavored mix much better than unflavored VG by itself. Drop in some spearmint and it rocks!!!!!!!

Not sure what you're referring to as being concerned about PG safety. There have been a lot more studies on inhaling PG than VG (since PG is in fog machines... think CA or other nanny-states requiring its testing). It's used as a delivery medium for IV usage in ICU -- it's non-toxicity is pretty well established. A fair amount of people are allergic to it, and the flavorings and nicotine add variables that has not been tested, but that's true for VG as well.

If I were paranoid, I might be more concerned about the acrolien connection with VG. Lots of posts on that, and scientific guesstimation that it's not going to happen under e-cig temps, but no real studies have been done that I've seen. I'm not worried about it, but since you were citing some kind of study on potential hazards...

MSDS isn't a study. It's a universal hazards sheet for chemicals- required by law for safe use and handling of all chemical compounds. PG states it is toxic if inhaled above a certain amount. I assume fog machines don't reach that level, but speculate vaping would. My assumption is also it is a mild hazard, or else there would be more published adverse affects by now with the growing popularity of vaping.

Tacoma Wa,
I can't vape 100% VG. It gives me heavy lungs, wheezing, and shortness of breath within hours. I can vape 50/50 blend. So like everything in vaping, it is subjective and individual to each person.

Yeah i get that too..plus being i french inhale sometimes and blow it out my nose sometimes , it makes a waxey film in my nose and collects a greasyness on my face.
So i do 80/20 most all the time.

Same for me but I stop at 60pg/40vg if I have a choice, easier on the atomizers. More phlegm and greasy nostrils too with 100% VG. I feel like it is clogging me up--Nothing major, just don't like the feeling of all VG.

It's (pg) been used in asthma inhalers since the 1950's with studies finding little health risk other than allergic reactions in some people. eHow has a good page on the subject. Danger of Inhaling Propylene Glycol | eHow.com. I build cooling rooms / buildings for commercial and industrial IT applications and use PG by the 55 gallon drum in "environment critical" situations, so I've seen the MSDS many times. The dangers from burning tobacco still far exceed any risk posed by inhaling PG. I'd jam a drip tip in a fog machine before I'd ever smoke tobacco again.

I vape 80 PG 20 VG sometimes up to 30% VG but no higher than that. Its thick, sticky, leaves a film on my windows, hangs in the air and gives me too much throat phlegmn. Shoot it even builds up on the inside of the drip tip- I use it in the lowest necessary amount to get what to me is a reasonable vapor production and a nice thin carto friendly juice. Its a carto killer and it dulls flavors- you will need more flavor if you go 100% VG. I would only go that route all VG if I was allergic to PG but thats just me.

Tastes obviously vary....but I am in the 100% VG camp.

I too, found that I had a sensitivity to PG-(it took me a month of a sore throat and breakouts to figure it out.) In addition- I don't find the PG based juices satisfying. In my humble opinion-(as I always say, opinions are like ***holes, we've all got one! ) ...and to reiterate something already mentioned, if you dont get a good TH from your VG juice, re-evaluate your vendor. (I'm still pretty new to vaping, yet Ive collected a small museum of juices in the past month of different vg/pg ratios from different vendors ...theres a few in below pic)

My all VG favorites are AVE...(the tobacco flavors/Bobas Bounty etc) and Mountain Vapors (Turkish).

Happy trails.

That is a hell of a collection for not vaping long. Nice going.

This is incredibly dead on. its something I noticed but couldn't quite articulate.

PG just gives 'heat' on the back of my throat (a tad, nothing impressive) and allows the vape to get hotter when chain vaping

VG gives a really deep lung hit that reminds me of smoking a nail. I experience it like 'drinking' something with my lungs when they're 'thirsty,' don't know how else to put it

And true TH belongs to nic IMO anyway. Its not a hit so much as it is a peppery sensation in the throat and lungs, like 'drinking' above but more intense

VG ftw!

PS: Just vaped some pure PG for a while, and not only do I not like the taste, I got zero throat hit...

EDIT: I def agree however that PG is a more potent flavor carrier, nothing that can't be fixed with upping your flavor percentages slightly
