I am surprised that the innokin Ares has not been mentioned. It is the only tank I have owned that has no leaking issues. I've used a range of juice viscosity and what seemed to be too little cotton. Yes, I tried to make it leak and failed. Rebuilding is super easy.
Only been using it for a couple of weeks but so far I'm happy. You can take a look at www.myvaporstore.com.

I keep going back and forth on the Ares because of the mixed reviews it's gotten regarding flavor. How are you finding it in that regard?

It some times takes a while for it to break in but seems to depend on the flavor I'm using. I'v used the Iclear 16 for several years and IMO the flavor is somewhat better than the Ares. It's hard to pin down.

Thanx again. Seems to me I already have both of these types of coils....Lemme go check my stash. LOL

:)

If you are like Me, than you Probably do.

Because I have Literally 1,000's of Pre-Coiled Coils.

Seems like every time I do a FT Order, I throw a 50 Pack or two on my order. It's kinda like throwing in a Pack of Gum or a Tin of Mints while standing in line at the Grocery Story.

LOL

I have the SMM and we have a love/hate relationship. ...I want something that don't leak seep etc.

If you are using a coil smaller than 3.5mm, try using a 3.5mm (or even a 4mm) coil. That is what I have been running in mine and the only time it leaked was when left the top off for like 30 minutes because I got distracted after filling it.

Have to try that. It don't leak crazy just get that occasional wetness under the atty. I found fanning out the cotton from post to post helps also.

You didn't mention a price-range, so i'll offer a couple of pricier single coil options in case you're interested in checking them out.

Hurricane Jr: Single coil, lots of airflow for DL vaping. You can close it down quite a bit but I've heard the MTL experience on this tank is poor. I haven't tried an MTL build on this tank because it's not the way I like to vape RTA's. I can tell you that a more DL or restricted DL on this tank produces very nice flavor. Unfortunately, my ADV (fruit/berry flavor) just does not pop in this tank, but dessert/bakery flavors are great. I'm vaping it right now with a simple, spaced 24g kanthal coil at .4 ohms. Great flavor, I keep the power down and get a nice and dense but cool vape. Wicking is easy and if done right, the tank will not leak (as is the case with most RTA's).

Kayfun 5: Lots of info on this one out there, but I can confirm that I personally have never had a single leak/flood/seep from this tank.

I REALLY want to try the Tanko from Odis Collection, this is another single coil DL style tank that's supposed to have great flavor, but I need to cool it on high-priced atty's for a bit. There's not a lot of reviews out thereon this one, but from what I was able to find it seems flavor is standout.

EDIT TO ADD: I just found out about a single coil RTA from Advken called the CP. Couldn't find it at any USA retailers so I ordered it from Heaven's Gifts. I really like their Manta RTA, more than the Reload, so am super-looking forward to getting the CP. Can't recommend it yet obviously but it doesn't hurt to do a little research on it.
Have to look into these. The tanko reminds me of the Pico sorta kinda and I hated that tank for some reason.

Ahh so not leaking. That issue only seems to happen if the AFC ring is not all the way open. Condensate forms on the inside part of the ring that is covering the hole and then slowly seeps down. I find that when you are done vaping and going to put the mod down for a bit, if you make sure to suck any excess vapor out (without firing the button), it seems to help that a lot. I also put a tiny little o-ring around the 510 pin just to make sure none of that gets into the connector. Works perfectly.

Only type of RTA that I know is 100% guaranteed not to leak is a fluff style tank (capillary type feeding) but there aren't many anymore as fell out of favor for vacuum style. The GP Spheroid V1-V3, GP Heron V1 and the Prometey V1-V3 all use fluff for feeding the wick. They will not leak.

You can sometimes find them in the classifieds (though not often) but you can get a Prometey V2 clone here.
Prometey v2 Titanium Rebuildable Atomizer replica - RBA

That is the only place I'm aware of that still carries this clone. Absolutely stunning flavor, no leaking EVER, but a tight MTL draw so be aware that is what it is. Many will poo poo on the fluff RTAs but they are absolutely 100% leakproof.

So far my Kayfun collection has been the only attys I have that never leaked on me, aside from my Derringer RDAs. My Cthulhu MTL is awesome as far as flavor, but if the wicks move out of the juice channels (which often happens when you close the juice control to fill it), then you'll get some seeping out of it. Id recommend the Kayfun 5, its a no brainer to wick right, and not a single leak from mine. Just depends on your vaping style whether it'll suit you though.

I need to up-date my comments on the Innokin Ares RTA. I said the flavor seemed muted; no, it was a bad build. I’ve been using it for a month and rebuilding often (just because it’s easy) using organic cotton, Cotton-Bacon or Rayon. Good, bad or indifferent, each material has its own flavor profile. Other variables I believe should be taken seriously are: oil from our hands, contaminants on the coil, coil spacing, flavorings in the e-liquid and density of the wick.
I am convinced that, with a little experimentation, a build can be found that brings out the best in your e-liquid. Start with surgery-like cleanliness and go from there.
I still use the iClear-16 (silica wick) from time to time but the Ares is here to stay; love it.
