BTW the Riva 510 kits at Liberty-Flights.com are 3.7v (their kits are new stock of the correct Riva manufacturer). As low as $30 - press the 20% off upper left front page then look at the prices.

And in Buying & Selling... Modders section - Old Goat makes plastic bottom feeders, Krimson Kustoms and others sell 3.7v box mods.

For affordable, versatile and worry free (ding it..drop it..heck, play parking lot hockey with it with "it" being the puck" you can't go wrong with the Maxi Roughstack. 3.7...5.0.(well..4.8)..6.0 or 7.4 volts....you decide. It will vape at whatever voltage you want depending on what batt. you feed it.

$45 buck..+ or -....and in my opinion you can't get a better device at that price. After I got my maxi roughstack I started to look around for a a really good "sexy" mod....I found it...got a second Maxi Roughstack. Just can't beat it. The only thing that can go out on it is the switch and that can be replaced for $14 and about 1 minute of your time. In 8 months I had to replace 1 switch and that was due (more than likely) to user error(stupidity) on my part.

My roughstack goes to work with me...out to do the yard work...out to the woods..etc and I don't have to worry about it getting dinged up..in fact..the Roughstack really doesn't "shine" untill you put a few battle scars on it.

And I wasn't kidding about the hockey thing.....saw a video where the Roughstack was the puck. They beat the heck out of it then picked it up and vaped it.

My .o2 cents worth. Just keep in mind that i am (according to my wife) a dumb#SS...so,,grain of salt......

+1 for Reo Grand or mini. Since you are using your phidias, you'll be familiar with Reo Grand. Carved from a block of aircraft aluminum (i'm guessing it's duraluminum), fully mechanical, even got a lock feature. 18650 battery stands for 1-2 day each, 6ml bottle of e-liquid inside. Just grab and go. Nothing to worry about.

Reo Mini or Grand. Might not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. These are the ultimate grab-n-go PV (IMO).

I love mine...but the one thing I do worry most is scratches, my Reo Mini is beautiful, well...I think all the Reo's are beautiful.
I don't like to take mine out, I keep my Reo at home...and when I am not vaping, my Reo is in either wrapped in bubble wrap or felt.

My vote goes to the ReoMini as well. Even though it's expensive, it's small, foolproof, durable, and has good battery life. The auto feed system does not need much in the way of care. Just pack a few extra batteries which are cheap (Deal Extreme), an extra bottle of your favorite juice, and a spare atty or two. You can even use cartos.

I am not a big fan of the ego style self contained batteries since they have a high failure rate (I went through 11 over the course of 15 months (ego/Tornado/Riva)-two of which starting smoking in my pocket). LiIon batteries cannot be recharged an unlimited number of times (around 300 with a lot of variation). It's one thing to toss a $20 battery; it's quite another at a few dollars each.

A cheaper alternative to an auto feed system, although I have not tried it, is the Vmod. It has a large following, altough the idea of a proprietary atty/carto is a turn off.

One like this of course

only .... don't forget the spare batteries
but who cares if it gets lost or broken, it only cost $2.20 to make.

Cheap is good. I'm still enjoying my $35 vv mod from madvapes.

My wife and I went to the Smoky Mountains for a short getaway trip this week and rented a car for the trip. Our Explorer developed an intermittent problem with a windshield wiper switch and rain was in the mountain forecast. I was keeping my Riva with a Boge carto on it in a little nook in the dash. It was a plastic pullout thing for change. I popped it out to dump some change out and forgot to put it back in and that left a hole in the dash. The next time I got in, I slid my Ecig into the holder (which was now a black hole in the dash). Clink, clink, tinkle, GONE! I couldn't feel it with my fingers ... just wiring harnesses.

I'm glad it wasn't a Provari! I would have been looking for dash parts to tear apart. The Riva batt with a carto attached is somewhere under the console, riding around with the next renter.

Thanks all for the great advice! I previously did not know about the GLV2 or Roughstack until now.
Right now they seem like pretty good possibilities.
I have also had my eye on the REO- my brother has one and he loves it. As another poster said though, my only concern about it would be scratching it. My other dilema with REO, would be why not get a Woodvil for alittle more $. Then I would be back to square one looking for something I could use and abuse... Lord knows I wouldn't want to with a Woodvil.

Is it just me or does anybody else think like that? (Why not spend a little more and get something nicer.....)
My Wife hates my thinking like that. I always spend more on something than I originally intended to.

Back to the GLV.... When researching I saw that for an additional amount of money you could get it clearcoated. I'm guessing that would make it stand up to a little more abuse without chipping/scratching no? Or is the clearcoat more just for cosmetic purpose ie glossy look.

Thanks again
