So, I want to get my sister and my niece some good kits for Christmas. I am not sure which kit would be best for either, but they would probably require a different style kit each, since their situations are different.

My sister is curious about electronic cigarettes. I am not sure if she is ready to quit yet, but may be able to cut back on her smoking, by vaping. For her, it would probably need to be something that is easy to carry. It would have to get about 6 hours, from light vaping. Most likely, she will be vaping coffee flavors and creamy flavors. I am thinking something with an automatic battery.

My niece wants to quit smoking and is really interested in electronic cigarettes. With her, it is all about the cosmetics. If she could have one that she could change the color, or one that came with different colored covers, it would be great. I don't know of any that do, but it would be a great idea. Also, she would most likely vape sweet flavors and sugary flavors. She could do automatic or manual batteries, and as long as it looked cool, it wouldn't matter if it were a stick style, eGo style, or whatever. It would need to get decent battery life, and possibly have a pass-thru version -- which could be an upgrade at a later date. She would also go through times of forgetting to use it and power vaping.

So, if anyone has any recommendations, that would be great. I know that different kits come with different cartos or tanks, so that is another consideration, to keep in mind. I'm also hoping to keep each of them around and preferably under $50.

Thanks everyone.

I think the eGo may be too large for my sister. It may be good for my niece though. Are you talking about the pass-thru kits?

For your sister if she is that concerned about the size go with the 901. For the ego I'm talking about the new ego pass thru's that you can buy a mega volt thingy (not technical lol) to boost the volts

My sister is just trying vaping. She is going to want something that feels like a cigarette. Not a cigar. We don't think of these things, as experienced vapers, but this is always a concern with someone just starting off. They are looking for the closest feeling to a real cig. It's about trying something new, but still having the security you had with your cigarettes. If she had another person vaping in the house, maybe an eGo would work. Without someone else to make it comfortable and familiar, the style of PV will have to do that.

lord have you thought of the 360 stingray, not to push one of our products on you at all, but if a ego is to big and most mods will be as well and a stick style to small and while most like a cigarette style, a typical 510 or 808 220mah stick wont last them long enough and many newbies get discouraged after they realize they need to charge them all over and over or start carrying a pcc case etc..

with something like the stingray which is all i use now you get the cigarette feeling and a battery that will last them a decent amount of time. if have a carto that needs high volt in which case ill use a vv but mainly ive been using only the stingray and have been thrilled, its a little thicker then a 510 stick but much thinner then a ego and shorter then most stick styles and other options.

One thing I would like to mention is in my opinion, coffee flavors don't do as well as clearer flavors in the vision extremes or the sapphires. They work better, again in my opinion, in an easier to clean item like a clearomizer or really I prefer the steel fluxomizers. For some reason the coffee really wants to form that black gunk on the coils pretty quickly. The visions and sapphires don't feel as cleanable or as disposable. So I really would recommend the steels (they are really durable, easy to use and clean once you pull out the inner rubber pieces) and for that added nice touch the pawn drip tip works top notch with it (510's). And I also really like the vision converter kit but that is maybe a bit fiddly for a newbie in this particular incarnation.

Also, there are several different colors of fluxomizers clearos for the gal who likes to coordinate.

Good luck finding just the right thing for your family members.

I vape coffee flavors and other really thick brown tastes, and have no issue with my Vision Extremes. I haven't had any issues with cleaning them either. I swear by the Fluxos, so I am sure I will be lending them some of those also. I haven't tried the Sapphire 2.0s yet, but they should be here Monday or Tuesday.

I am not sure why you are having issues cleaning the Vision Extremes. I just pull the cap off of the cone, and put some water in them. Then I shake the heck out of them. After a few times, they get pretty clean. I think it is because there is so much room for the water to splash around in them, it helps the wicks get clean. About 10 or so dry burns later, they are ready to go.

I vape juices from FreedomSmokeUSA. Since I took quite a few months off of vaping, most are steeped 9 months to a year. I just cleaned my 2.5ML Vision Extreme, after vaping Hopscotch in it (9 month steep). I refilled it with Gummy Bears (new bottle) and not a trace of Hopscotch was left. My 1.5ML was filled with Caramel Cream (newer bottle), and replaced with Hypnotic Mist (10 month steep). Still, no issue. I haven't tried pulling off the tube yet, but I hear that it can be done, although it is a bit tricky.

I've been posting elsewhere about learning to use my new CE2 on a V4L manual battery. I love the battery and think I am going to love the flux once I can get more flavor from my chocolate and coffee juices. Definitely loving the hit and the vapor, just miss the flavor . . . I am willing to consider another manual battery if I can find a slim one that takes fluxos . . . so I will be watching this thread. GV, glad I found you guys. Thanks a bunch because I was giving up on cartos and vaping. CE2's are an awesome addition to the vaping world.

Now, tell me what to do about it leaking from the top when it lays on its side too long - because that's how it sits in my car and purse. Note - I have removed the inner cap seal, modded and flipped the small donut, using the drip tip that comes with them.

You can use the ce2 808 carts on the v4l batteries they are 808. They work quite well. or buy the 510 adapter.

You have to leave the bottom seal in and use the syringes to fill if you don't want leaks in the fluxos... I just pry up both sides a little bit more by the wick for more room.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was talking specifically about the wick. I am nervy about dry burning it since I can't take it apart and replace the wick, as I frequently must with my clearos. And at least for me, the darker flavors, especially coffee tend to gunk up the wick and coils astronomically faster. If your coffee isn't, our you have a trick to stop that I would be eternally grateful for the name or description if said trick. I love my coffee vape, but I hate the extra cleaning it seems to require.
