Best mechanical mod?

The one that works, is attractive to me, is in my price range, and doesn't have a high voltage drop.

My copper vanilla clone fits that bill. The button has a smooth throw, looks awesome to me, and was only $20ish on Black Friday.

"Best" is super subjective to me but I'll take a shot at it.

Best overall for functionality and design - Reo SL LP
Best button - Paps Lux v2.5
Best value in authentic - Lunar
Best for super sub ohming - Rig
Best non-fiddly - EA

The best mod will be the one that works for you, for your vaping style, your budget, your aesthetic eye, feel, function, etc. so too hard to nail down but it's fun trying ;-).

since i had few mods to use.. here are the good and bad of them.

FT 1:1 penny copper: love this thing. but not all atty will fit flush. it hits hard. button has no issue what so ever. fires every time.
FT nemesis copper: good beginner's mod i would say. most atties will fit flush. button works well with spring. only thing i don't like about it is those threads. they are smooth, but i have to turn and turn and turn just to lock the button.
FT 1:1 cartel copper: it's good. but i had to get that tiny bump off the positive and negative pins. looks little different. stillare v3 sits flush.
FT 1:1 4nine copper: i had to play with it a little. i read that additional magnet for the flat top battery might be some issue. i didn't have any issue. throw is short and who set up is nice and small.
FT 1:1 praxis copper: still waiting on it. it's hybrid, so i would assume it will hit hard.
FT Le Petit Gros: still in the box. i was going to use it with Sat22, but i need a torch for the ss sheet.
FT cartel the boss 30mm: got it just to complete the set. ordered 33mm too, but they are no longer making it.

out of those i use penny and 4nine the most. penny has 23mm body and it fits taifun gt perfectly. 4nine is great for drippers.

Been through a load of tube mods and landed on that I just can't be bothered to chase that extra bit of voltage but I only go down to .6 or so with kanthal. My Nemys, Stingray, PAPS all do a job rather well so thinking I will not be getting any others. Get something you are comfortable using. For me Nemys have always just worked and have never missed a beat. Yes have a Reo and other bottom feeders and they get used but for 22mm tanks....

Here are my nominations

Roller
Dingo
Nemesis
Stingray

They all vape well, well as well as a mech can vape well. I have moved onto regulated and have not looked back. I remember a year or so ago Rip Trippers kept saying that we were missing out not going regulated. Well he was right, and I am glad I have got the opportunity to sell all my gear and re-up :D
