Jordan -- my 2 cents:

Sorry your request for info has gotten a bit spirited and controversial. IMO the Silver Bullet and the VmodXL are both great devices. If you are sold on a Tube Mod -- Silver Bullet is on the top of my list at this price range.

The Silver Bullet is beautiful, has a good reputation, a very nice firing button and could easily be considered large. I think they are great, but not pocket friendly.

I became a bottom feeder mod fan after a couple months vaping.. And, I still am. To me, the carto tanks are unsightly and just make a large tube mod even more unappealing. Sorry guys. Some of us gals just don't like that macho---but some of us do like 18650 batteries!

I use both carto's and atty's on the feeders -- and will often drip when I'm home and want a change. It works for me.

The litte Vmod is a gem for pocket. Little features like the recessed atty and use of cone over it just make it more pocket friendly than any other mod I own or have owned--until the XL. But, now that the XL has arrived -- that's the one I would recommend at this time, period. It fits in my back jeans pocket fine---as well as the cell phone pocket of my purse. That is a blessing!

If anyone wants to read about it go to the thread posted earlier. It's what many of us Vmodians have been waiting for, and more.

Plus, the Hybrid and Vmod were designed right here in Sunny So Cal. That has to be a plus! The Vmod is not a Chinese product re-branded by an American company as sometimes occurs.

And -- for $56 (with current sale) you get a mod, 2 delron drip tips, 2 bottles, a universal hybrid atty and a carto and free shipping. You might even get a free disposable! (if that deal is still running) I've heard they are pretty good and last, too. ( I'm saving mine for travel!)

And, for those that think I'm a shill -- well I'm also one for Darwin, Provari, Grip, Phidias, GLV, Bartleby, JoyE, Ikenvape, BWB and more.....

I'm right behind you
+1 on the vmod XL. whatever issues the initial vmod had are clearly gone with the introduction of the XL. I can't put this thing down. And yes you can BYOA (bring your own Atty) to the party. Noone can discount the solid reputation and performance of the SB, but for a quality bottom feeder that hits like a truck and refuses to leak (I have tried and failed to get it to leak) with a great price tag to boot, then the XL is the way to go IMO.

PS Chaos: I will bring my XL to the Atlanta Vape Meet in February so you can check it out, I think you will be surprised my friend.

The Silver Bullet is a fantastic mod with a long standing reputation. Add a BFT to it and you've got 8.5 ml worth of vaping on a quality device. That combo will also run you about 160$. It definitely won't be pocket friendly at that point. I don't think it's the right mod for someone looking to spend close to or under 100$.

I just don't think for someone looking for a versatile, quality mod as your "go to" all day device, that you can really beat a VMOD XL for under 60$.

My only word of caution - BF mods aren't for everyone. Make sure you have a juice or two you'll be happy all day vaping. When I owned the original VMOD, I hadn't settled on a juice yet, so I found myself not being happy "picking" a juice for all day. I wanted to swap it around too much. At the time it was pretty much my only device and this made things difficult.

I'm still not sure if I've found something I like enough to dedicate to a device for an "all day" thing, which is why I haven't picked the XL up yet. It seems like it addresses any of the issues I had with the previous VMOD, which were pretty much all related to the proprietary atomizers having issues. I just didn't like them all that much.

Anyway - you can't go wrong with a VMOD XL or a silver bullet. But if your primary focus is budget - I really think the VMOD XL is the way to go. You'd get the same function out of it for under 60$ as you would a Silver Bullet set up for 150-160$.

Ok, so I thought about it and I think I am gonna test the waters with the Vmod. Wish the gunmetal was in stock, but meh...

So in terms of pairing batteries and atomizers, I currently have some Boge LR cartos, as well as some of these:https://www.madvapes.com/MadVapes-510-Dual-Coil-Stainless-Cartomizer_p_3152.html

The Boge LR need to be paired with 3.7v because it would be too hot at 6v and higher, correct?

But I am confused with the Dual Coils, because it says they are "dual 3.2 ohm coils in parallel giving a total resistance of approximately 1.6 ohms." Does that mean that these cartos would get too hot at 6v as well?

Also, what about the “Silo” 2.2ohm Cartomizer and “Universal Hybrid BF” 2.2ohm Atomizer that comes with the kit? Would these work well at 6v?

I get that you can increase heat/vapor/th by either increasing voltage from the pv or decreasing resistance in the attie/carto, and I get that decreasing resistance reduces battery life and increases battery drain, but I'm not sure what the boundaries and generally accepted combinations are in pairing atties/cartos and batteries

The Boge LR cartos are 2.0ohm, so they'll be fine at 3.7v (4.2v with a fresh battery.) The dual coil cartos will work at 3.7v, but many prefer them with the 4.8v battery or by stacking two 3.2v LiFePO4 batteries.

As far as the Silo carto & Hybrid Atomizer...they are very good IMO. The 2.0-2.2ohm range is preferred by many, especially new vapers. My personal preference is 1.5ohms, but you might find it too hot. You're going to have to experiment a bit to find out what you like for flavor & heat.

As far as inexpensive attys go...look in the bulk section at www.vaporkings.com. They have Joye attys for a great price.

as far as the Silo cartos & Hybrid Atomizers go, are you vaping those at 3.7v or 6v?

Also, since you seem to be the local Vmod evangelist ;) you don't happen to know if they are expecting to receive any more of the gunmetal Vmod XLs and/or extra bottles in the near future (in time for the coupon/sale) do you?
