Well would the Silo cartos & Hybrid Atomizers work well at 6v?

If that is the case, I may just opt for 6v and sell my remaining Boge LR cartos on the forums, since I love throat hit and hot vapor and suspect that I will like using 6v.

Also, am I wrong in my noob understanding in thinking that, more or less, high voltage w/ med-to-high-resistance is comparable to (will get similar results as) a low voltage w/ low resistance pairing, except in a more efficient manner that results in longer battery life?

Also, I still don't understand whether/why the dual coil is 1.6ohm or 3.2ohm

Your thinking is correct.

It all comes down to Ohm's Law:
(V *V) / R = W

So using the numbers from fully charged batteries:

(4.2 * 4.2) / 1.5 = 11.7w (2.8amps)
(6.4 * 6.4) / 3.5 = 11.7w (1.8amps)

You can get the same wattage & use less current.

If you decide to go HV with the Silo or Hybrid, you should get the highest ohm ratings available.

There is also a 4.8v battery available too. It's a nickel metal hydride & uses a special charger for that particular chemistry.

As far as the Dual Coil...

It may only have an effective rating of 1.6ohms, but it still has two 3.0ohm coils, so it's actually better in the 5v-6v range.

those tenergy batteries do not work for me stacked i got the same set at amazon, they cut off and wont work with 2 ohm dual coil cartos , also one battery was doa, i am ordering aw's to give them a try

Hey AG, I'm a little confused, because here you said to get the highest ohm available with the Silo/Hybrid, but previously you stated that you like to get those same atties/cartos at 1.5ohm.

Are you saying that because you are vaping them at 3.7v and are assuming that I will be vaping it at 6v? Or is that you are thinking that 1.5ohm at 6v might be too much heat for somebody new to mods?

I use the VMod at 3.7v for the most part, so I use 1.5ohm attys with it. Using the 1.5ohm with 6v would be a fireball & most likely result in a bad taste, burned juice, & a dead atomizer.

In short...you have to match up your resistance with your voltage, so you get a pleasant vape. Too low of a resistance with too high of voltage would be hot, and too high of resistance with too low of voltage would be cool. You want to be in the middle.

But...

It's someone's preferences. I could make the same chart with different "sweet spot" ranges. I like my vapor in the 10w-12w range.

Agree, AG. Also, this chart really needs to be updated in the color designations of "Hot sweet spot" and "Warm sweet spot". Someone confused the deeper orange and the more pumpkin colored orange.

So doing a little math here....

I was vaping my Riva 510 with Boge LR cartos and was pretty close to where I would like to be. Therefore, my wattage was at about (3.4^2)/2 = 5.78 watts

So if I was to go up to a 5v battery with 3.2ohms resistance, my wattage would be (5^2)/3.2 =7.81 watts, which would put me at a bit warmer vape, increased throat hit, and additional average per mah battery life (1.7 amps vs 1.56 amps) compared to my Riva/LR setup

and at 6v with 3.2ohms resistance, my wattage would be (6^2)/3.2 = 11.25 watts and is going to be producing drastically more heat/vapor than my 510/LR setup

Am I starting to get this?

I plan on ordering, it just sucks cuz the whole reason I started this thread was b/c both of my Riva 510 batts busted w/in a matter of minutes of eachother, so right now I am out of the game and smoking regular ciggies. I'm going to call Vapage tomorrow and see if they won't let me place my order using the discounted price and coupon codes, and then ship the order whenever they receive new product. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

In the meantime, even if they allow it, I am sure it will be at least 2 weeks until I could expect to see my XL at my door. Liberty Flights, who I ordered my Riva kit from, isn't in the office today, and I'm sure I will have to ship them my faulty batteries before they ship replacements, so I'm probably looking at 2 or so weeks on those as well.

My mom has a lot of Bloog batts I could use, but the bloog (that was the e cig I first started with) just doesn't do it for me after using the Riva with LR cartos. Plus, she orders all her cartos pre-filled (nasty), and in 11mg nic, whereas I usually use 18.

Right now I'm looking into building a Puck, but my DIY skills are shoddy at best, and the tutorials I am seeing are made with 901 attie/carto connects, and I would need to build it for a 510

jordan, there is a Boston Vapors group here on ECF. There is also an option to PM a Mod and let them know of an emergency need. Should it be me, I would opt to vape the Bloog over smoking cigs, but that's me, and is not to say that I don't get it, because I do.

I cannot speak for Vapage, but I do know that LF will most likely send you new batts immediately, along with a RMA so that you can return the defective ones. BTDT.

Right now, I would suggest the first two options. There might just be a vaper nearby that would gladly loan you a PV for a week or so. I know I would!

Thing is, I am currently in Kansas City for the holidays and will be leaving here in a week and half, then spending 4 or 5 days in Chicago, then in NY, and then finally returning to Boston around the third week of January.

I think I am gonna priority order some blank cartos from Bloog and then I will be able to get by on that until this all gets sorted out. Also thinking about ordering one of the madvapes vv box mod build kits, but I'm not sure my skills are up to par
