That's a fair comment considering you have had dealings with so many.

I have only had problems with clones though. I have bought all of my clones from FT though and I would bet that quality control isn't all that.

I have had bad threading on mechs
Loose, ill fitting, failing buttons on switches
Such annoying misfitson my rda clones.

I think a massive difference here is that when paying £15-20 for a piece of equipment it doesn't really fall under the same scrutiny. A fantastic manufacturer will usually not sell these pieces, am I right?
That's why there are authentic blem, reconditioned versions of things from provari and GP.

Perhaps I need to find a better cloning company.

Shop around for sure.
You just might be suprised.

fasttech doesnt make anything. They are only a store.
All mods (both clones and authentics) are not equal and QC is all over the place in this industry.

Most US modders work from a small shop, with a low budget and rarely even have a business lisc.
Chinese clones are made on production lines, in large factories with expensive equipment, subsidized by the government.
Its not magic.

Buying authentic doesnt automatically mean higher quality control.

Oh no obviously from the amount of you that vouch for clones they must be good.

It's just that my self, I have 8 clone mechs from tobeco, Hcigar, infinite (I think there's one more) every switch has been bad. The rdas have been good except for one of them in which the measuring was terrible. Every rta has been a disappointment and letdown.

It wasn't until I forked out on blatantly unfair, overpriced, authentic goods that I found my perfect vape. So I have spent hundreds on worthless clones when I could have bought 1/2 whole sets that actually worked.

Again, each to his own and believe me, I wish clones worked out for me. It wasn't till I spent £50 around 7/8 months ago on the kfun lite and I really, really enjoyed my vape.

This opinion is only for me. I don't think you should pay those inflated prices and should definitely try clones first off. But this ones next for me.

I bought an authentic brass Nemesis in Toronto this week and I absolutely love it. I have a few other authentics coming in the next week or so, but have been using mech clones (Chi You, King, Stingray, etc.) up to this point. I know what I am doing technically, but I really am a newbie re: trying multiple authentic mechs.

I don't have the experience with tons of authentics vs. clones as Bad Ninja and many others that post in this forum, but I am glad I bought the Nemesis. It was expensive, but I think it is perfectly constructed and hits like a Mack Truck. It is a thing of beautiy to look at too. I have magnets on order, but the spring works perfectly fine (much better than my clones).

I will soon order a GP Paps and my HoH, Akuma V-Clay and another Nemesis will be here soon and I will be set for mechs.

Yay.dont feel like such an outsider now. Good on you
Enjoy.
Btw, did you get the old or newer nemesis I.e Kalafan or something?

Dunno. Just the train on the bottom. No By Atmomixani or anything. Newer I am assuming as the S/N is over 2000. I'll post a pic when I have a min....

I have to reply in support of your post. I did the clone thing too, for too long, and they were all let-downs, even though at the time they served their purpose they didn't do a very good job of it. I did the Nemesis clone, the Caravela clone, the Sigelei clone of the 69 mech, and others, and at the end of the day they were all just... meh.

Switches were always problematic and build quality was always an issue. Then I got my first Poldiac. Then another, and another, and another, etc, etc. I had arrived. Currently seeking my 6th Poldiac, and I'll go after a 7th and an 8th. Hard to find them now, in 18650.

When it comes to reliability and quality you cannot beat the authentics and MMV did a fantastic job of it producing beautiful mechs that just work. Easy to maintain, superior design and build quality, and first rate customer service. So sad that the Greek financial crisis laid them low, but that's what socialism does to countries.

Clone Nemesis hotcig, Kraken by HCigar.
Replacement switch added because I found a really smooth one in a bin at the B&M, springs, no magnets.
Set up is 3 years old.

The Vape Syndicate Ti drip tip cost more than the mod and atty together.
:D

If it were all authentic it would cost about $500.

Clones? About $40 before driptip.

The poldiac clones do suck badly.
But they were made 4 years ago, when clones were janky and Poldiacs were still being made.
Its not the sane across the board
Ill agree with you on the Greece situation. Very sad.
MMV was a solid player with a great rep.

@Vaslovik
Appreciate you getting involved. Your an exclusive mech user. So I was gonna ask r all your mechs authentic? And obviously from your post you think they're worth the money.

@Bad Ninja
Your always posting useful info on here so you know your stuff. I mean you've even repaired mods before. I'm sure your collection is so big you don't worry about any dud clones you get. Although I know my stuff to keep safe that doesn't mean that I can even take a switch apart and fix it if it's janky. I don't want that hassle. I just want to chill and enjoy my vape. If that means I pay 100+ more than you so be it.

I'm sure you've got a few prized beautiful mods yourself but my collection is small and I want things I can be proud of.
I don't buy designer clothes but admittedly Armani, Dior, ck, Chanel, Versace Tshirts are not worth $100 dollars but there is definitely better workmanship involved. It's still a tshirt at the end of the day but part of the luxury is to own something authentic. Although others may be fooled, that's neither here nor there. You feel luxurious because you know.

Wait one last thing. I know you said that clone manufacturers have better more expensive equipment.
But.... I've only used Gus and Kayfun for authentics but I can tell you without a doubt that qc is better because everything that I've had just works so well
I'm not going to tell you to buy one or the other, I don't care and just can't honestly afford the originals, so I'm a bit jellous!
What he meant with the better equipment is that now, vs 4yrs ago, they are using top end cnc equipment rather than the old worn out manual machines so qc has improved greatly!
Yes, the originals will still be better, but they are all hand fitted and tested. If one part isn't right they make a new one that is. But this can, and has, led to interchangeability problems on some originals. I want to say the GG's were some of the worst at this but I'm sure I'll be corrected. It CAN be a double edged sword buying an original.

Sawlight that's something that I can't argue about
I've only been using my mechs properly for about 4 months ish. In that time I've got 3 mechs, 3 rtas and 1 dripper and that's set me back a lot of cash
So I bloody well hope not.
When I say nothing has gone wrong though, I mean not a single thing.

I mean disregard the safety issues for a moment but if a fake Mercedes was out for a 10th of the price with the same badge, logo, everything I don't think I would buy it. I'm a Ford Focus man :( now my mods are more expensive than my car. That's a problem

Dont misunderstand.
Im not trying to talk you out of buying an authentic mech.
I carry a $150 pocket knife to cut rope and open boxes. lol
:)
Buy what makes you happy.
I was just commenting on some polular misconceptions.

In my experience, the authentic mod=higher quality is a myth.

There are slight differences, but higher quality isnt common from authentics.
