fasttech had those aluminum nemesis for less than nine bucks. I got a couple for the tubes and look at the rest as a cheap spare parts package.
I have another authentic Nemesis coming next week and my first FT Nemmy clone should be here soon as well (2nd clone still a couple of weeks away). I am very interested in comparing them side by side and will post my impressions.

I can't stand people that blatantly write off all clones. I will have 5-6 authentic mods by next week but also about 10 clones. I am hoping my authentic Nemesis mods blown away the clones, but I don't expect the clones to be crap. Maybe very slightly inferior, but likely still great every day mods...

Your right. All my clones have been "useable". What that means is it works but ain't been great. The switches have all been janky, the threads grinding away like there's no tomorrow. That, along with the £15 I bought them for means I'm not very upset if I lose one.
I have lots of clone everything but I still want a quality mod that works every, single, time - no issues. That's why I am happy to spend good money on one. Is it unfair pricing - kinda, but then I wouldn't know because I don't know how much is costs to initially produce one.

I think there shouldn't be any arguements regarding what someone wants to spend their cash on. anything other than fair discussion is ridiculous.

I think clones work brilliantly for some and good luck to you.
Mine have all been shocking so here we are.

I agree sorta.
I know roughly what it takes to make a batch of tube mechs, and have experience owning a manufacturing business.
Thats why I wont pay over a certain amount for any tube mech.
Poor business models arent my fault and dont get rewarded my hard earned cash.
I have to see what Im paying for, and it has to be worth the cost.

What is that amount roughly if you don't mind me asking?

For me, I can't justify paying over $200-ish for any mod. There could be exception of the right thing came along, but as a rule, over $200 for a metal tube or a special chip in a VV/VW device would be hard for me to pull the trigger on.

Well I just paid over £200 for a shiny metal tube.
I just wanted it. I've got the money. Only 12 were ever made. It's Greek. It's authentic.

I can totally understand everyone's right to do what they want with their money. I could have and should have spent that money properly. Given to some people who actually need food and water. I know that and I'll get there.
Saying that, you could have just given that $20 dollars to charity instead of buying a clone but hey ho.

Back to the clothing analogy though. Why ever spend inflated prices on a brand when you can get nearly the same thing for a fraction of the price?
The fit is slightly better imo. You don't just buy into the the materials (although generally better). You buy into the design, the branding, the company. You love them and you want to buy from them. The label means something. You don't want them to go away and on top the customer service is great. I have made mistakes and this Greek company actually just take my goods back and send me the correct things. Extra little things for free when I have asked. Always ready to answer questions within hours in English.

Is it overpriced. Yes. Too much for you, go somewhere else. I think the companies getting away with and sold out of $200 mods probably don't need your help neway. If so, they can drop the prices.
I indulge in nothing else. I am extremely proud of my expensive mods. My clones are OK but they don't satisfy me the same way. Some people get their satisfaction from a steal of a deal. Others from indulging in high end products.
Again. Each to his own.

But really mechs can be real, real, real similar. Rtas on the other hand. Night and day imo

That was a one off though. I'll try and stick with £100 limit now

About $100ish.
Ive paid a bit more, but after 22 years of manufacturing automotive racing suspension parts its hard for me to justify paying more.

Example: I love the Able. Would never pay $250.
The sleeves are $50! Just a simple cut tube!!!

I was born at night... Just not last night.

Did I hit a nerve?
"Too much for me"?
Really?
o_O

Slow your roll insulting me, as I havent insulted you.
Spend your cash anyway you like, but if you think spending "more" equals "better" you are in for a rude awakwning.

Lol. That wasn't directed at you @Bad Ninja
Just thought the same people will be reading this thread. Honestly no offence meant. I'm sorry that you felt insulted.
Edit:not directed to anyone in particular, just addressing the general feeling.

I was having an arguement with someone going on about that's too much money today. I let my frustrations come out here. It is too much but I don't mind.
:)

The VR Nem switch works without issue. Either the factory or the original owner already fine tuned it or it worked from day one. My clones usually have required that final step of finishing for either good looks or function.

It is like buying a table from a furniture showroom and having the as shown item delivered vs a box with all the pieces but some tools and assembly are required - monetary equity vs sweat equity spending.

That sounds perfect. If I knew how to do it I guess I would be loving clones. It's just I don't and won't learn. There is something about owning the authentics though. I know they are overpriced for metal tubes but as I have held and used both I can say that I just prefer my authentics. I guess a lot of it is in the mind but I just want 5 authentics so 2 more to go and then I'll learn to finalise the clones myself I guess

Really liking that 'OG mod' the old one with the polar bear on it? Don't know about the nemesis any more... And maybe a GP Paps but they are sold out atm. I'm just waiting to be verified and maybe I'll get two 2nd hand ones for a good price.

Yeah, ok I've kinda changed my mind. The authentics; better = yes (imo)
Worth it = No
There's some plain authentic Greek tubes €80

That I would spend.
The gold plated one. I'm in two minds. I really like it, but the faintest tarnishes I'm getting make me not wanna use it!!!
@Bad Ninja it seems you may be right. I guess if I had all of the money in the world I would keep buying authentics. But... I don't, so I won't. :nah:

Edit; I don't work for this company just talk about them too much :)

That is nice!

You mentioned the GP PAPS above being sold out. Many models seem to be but I just recieved a GP X SS Lux directly from VapourArt in Bulgaria ands it was about 130€. Shipping wasn't bad and I had it in a few days.

It is a killer mod for a few bucks less than a Nemesis from Greece (I have an authentic Nemesis too).

I had a small issue (one small add-on missed) and they took care of me immediately. Great customer service and I would buy another one if I had the cash, but I did just buy a bronze stainless tube as I didn't have to pay shipping as it could ship with my missed part.

Something to think about in any case.

Here is the link....

GP X SS Edition

P.s. Are these mods worth $150-250? Likely not if you compare them to top clones, but I can afford a few authentics and justify it as I am saving $3-4k/yr by not buying smokes. And I DO prefer every authentic I own to their clone counterparts.

I picked up a Atmomixani 69 clone that I do like. Having the button on the side is nice. I took out the bottom neg pin since the battery bottom can just touch the mount for the pin to make contact. This shortens it so it is only a bit taller than the Nemesis. It looks nice with a Serpent Mini.
