My IBTanked arrived in the mail today, after a little fiddling, I got it set up and good to go... 2 things... I noticed some leakage out of the battery contact on the carto... is that normal? And, when I screw it down on the ProVari, it doesn't go down tight. It gets to a certain point and then just spins. I'm using it with the IBT pro 22 beauty ring. Shortly after I threaded it down the first time, I had it in my pocket for a very short time, then went to use it again, and the tank was dang loose, like wobbly ready to thread right off loose. I was really looking forward to making this my solid go to work set up, but now I'm not so sure. I know others use this as a hassle free on the go set up, so what gives?

So far, I gotta say my favorite duo is the ProTank 2 with the aero base. It's just hassle free, I only wish it was 22mm D.

The little juice/moister from the carto onto the center pin is normal. How the cartomizers are designed, plus the fact that they draw air in through the bottom...the little juice/moister is going to happen. Any more than just a touch is too much, and could be a sealing problem with the o rings. Clean the Provari end cap area daily with 99% alcohol and a paper towel.

The cartomizer won't go down tight. If it did, you wouldn't be able to use it...it draws air in through the bottom.

Screwing the carto/tank on the Provari by hand should have it tight enough to stay on for normal usage...but remember, you're only able to screw it as tight as the o rings will hold. Movement of the tank, such as by keeping it your pocket, can cause it to come loose. It's a trade off.

Lastly, are you using a carto tool to install the carto through the o rings? Those babies are sharp, and they'll destroy an o ring pretty quick without using a tool.

Once the o-rings in the caps absorb some liquid, they swell slightly. Then once they become dry again they will fit more snuggly on the carto and the tank will not be as slippery.

Having said that, I try to pull my Provari out from my front pants pocket by grabbing the Provari body, not by just grabbing the tank. It's become second nature to me. I also don't wear tight fitting pants. :p I prefer cargo pants for their larger pockets.

A little bit of juice drainage onto the Provari center pin is normal. Most likely it is just vapor condensation from the carto's air hole reforming back to liquid and settling onto the connector pin.

And I wholeheartedly agree that a tank tool like the Slap Yo Moma is indispensible for anyone using a cartotank.

If it spins too much maybe try switching out the orings.
Dont tighten it too much, that has been my problem before, i tighten it and then it spins, so now i just turn till i feel resistance. Havnt had any priblems recently.

But one of my new tanks imdid have to switch out the orings immedietly, not sure what was going on but it just spun like crazy.
No worries though because they send extra orings when u buy them!

Thanks everyone. I decided to try it out at work today, and everything went fine! It was a pretty easy day though, all inside work. We'll see how she does out in the field later this week.

I also wear cargo pants almost exclusively, thanks for the tip on grabbing by the ProVari and not the tank. I've got to practice that.

It didn't leak excessively on the pin, or spin off... so I must have gotten something right this time round.

Yup, I got the long tapered tip from IBTanked that helps you get the carto in, and also to refill.

The guys at work are duly impressed with the ProVari, no converts yet. It's cool to still be a part of the smokers circle, but I gotta say, the smell of smoke is kinda distasteful now.
