Best tank for ego twist?

Hey all,

Noob here but glad to say I haven't had a cig in almost 4 weeks now.

I'm using a Kangertech protank on an ego twist. I've noticed that for some juices, when it gets less than full, it starts gurgling, getting slightly clogged, and leaking a bit of juice. I was initially thinking it might be the type of juice I was using, as I have been switching between 100% vg based to 50-50. However, I am not sure if the juice is the problem anymore. It seems to happen no matter the juice. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyways, I am getting pretty frustrated with this.

Previously, I had a mini vivi nova tank, but I wasn't a big fan of that either because it would sometimes leak on top and I'd have to constantly wipe juice out.

For all the people out there that have an ego twist, any recommendations on tanks? Thanks in advance!

I am going to be completely honest. I have used CE5's, CE6's, Protanks and Vivi Novas. In the end I find I like a plain old fashioned carto tank. They are a little bit of a learning curve but once you know how to set them up right you get excellent vapor production, marvelous flavor and no leaking/gurgling. Does that mean I never use my collection of clearo's? Not at all but the one I WANT to grab and use is the carto tank.

I use an EVOD, Kanger T2, and Vision V2 CE4 with my twist... I find that I also get the gurgling and puddling when my T2 starts to get down to the 1ml mark... Seems like I'm always driving on the freeway when it happens too! lol So then I look like an idiot holding my clearo out the window to try and get the extra juice blown out of it, and then switch to get the puddle of juice out of my battery connection.

Hi dchin91485. You're not alone with that.
Although the Kanger is great it does need a bit of attention. I've found I can clean it well now in about a minute. I do so usually at the 1ml mark. I've been rebuilding them for months and the odd time I get a fluke that vapes nearly dry but mostly they need to be cleaned sooner than that. Worth it though; they're great when firing well.

I use the kangar T3, MT3, CE4's, and a bunch others...I have found that the simple disposable $3.50 CE4's are the least of a problem and as satisfying as any other..every bottom fill I have ever used, T3's etc, have given me some problems with leaking juice or gurgling and a mouthful of nasty juice..

I have issues with everything but my kanger T3 so far. I use a Twist and love it. The mini vivi nova started leaking after changing the coil out and though I took it to the shop and they fiddled with it and fixed the next time I went to change out the coil it was back to square one. I have the CE4 and like it just fine but maybe since I don't hold up my battery when vaping but have it pointing down the T3 works better for me. I havent really found one that that really lets the flavor shine through. To me personally the T3 seems the easiers since its twist off, fill, twist on and ready. Since the tank it bigger I usually switch out the bottom coils between refilling. I put the new one on and rinse the used one in hot water so it can dry for next time.

I use twists and spinner batts. Some people have better luck with KPTs than others. Both of mine leak when they get a little low on juice. I like the hits when they are working properly but too much mess and hassle to clean up after them. Don't use them much anymore. I also have Vivi Nova Minis and Vision CE 5's. For me, the Vision CE5s have been the most consistent and user friendly clearos I use. What I like about them is they dont leak and I get my best hits when the juice gets below half. The Vivi Minis are ok, but seem to need a lot of fiddling and priming to get them going.

Hi SOrry I went to bed it was like 3:30 AM for me when I posted LOL

Really Any tank with good seals works. At the moment I have DCT tanks and a Boge F17 tank both are plastic. I have an IBtanked on order which is extremely highly rated and glass. I use alot of juices that crack tanks so a glass tank with metal caps is a wise idea.

Yes these are the ones you slide the carto into. I get a week or sometimes more before I have to replace the carto in the tank (assuming no flavor change).

Because I use high VG juices (60/40 or 50/50) I found that prepunched cartos really didn't work well for me and I have to punch extra holes myself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wEXmwnvl0gs is a nice video of punching etc.

I also highly recommend you get a slap you mama tool (or a knockoff of one) to assist with inserting cartos into the tank without damaging orings and refilling.

Figuring out how many holes and how big you need them to get a good flow of juice without flooding takes a little fiddling but once you know what you need for your PG/VG level you can pretty much just always set it up that way from the get go and not have to fiddle at all.

Hope this fleshes it out a bit for you. Sorry for the delay. Sleep won. :)

I have a smoketech pyro DCT that is not wicking properly and definitely needs some added holes. I picked up a valve punch (also known as a self piercing needle / saddle valve) this weekend but have yet to punch some more holes in my cartos.

My favourite clearo to date is the T2. It's simple to fill. Has an excellent draw and vapor production and I use it with a fairly high VG mix. I find i have to clean the coil fairly often (usually once every 2 days) but have a few replacements I've been cycling through. I took someones advice and cut small outlets on the condom to expose a bit more of the wick and have been vaping on that all day. Its absolutely fantastic and has neglected the need for me to continually tip the clearo to ensure proper wicking when the tank gets low. for a beginner, the T2 was a god send. So much better than the crappy CE's I was using.

Also recently picked up an iClear 30 that I'm digging. I find the draw to be a bit tighter than I'd like and eats a ton of juice but it wicks like a champ. If you do pick up one of these, do yourself a favor and clean the thing out before first use. I neglected to do so and suffered through a nasty tasting juice for a day til I sucked it up and cleaned it out.

Congrats on being off analogs and welcome to the fun world of vaping!
