Best VV device At the moment

Hello everyone, Ive had to take a break from vaping due to financial troubles but now im hoping to make a leap back into it. Ive owned many provaris over the years and have always loved them. Is there any new VV devices on the market that I should know about? Sorry I havent dont a whole bunch of research, getting over surgerys and such I dont have much energy to do so

There are quite a few new vv devices, and several of them not only have variable voltage but variable wattage as well. Both on the same pv. Prices range from around $40 to around $100. I've written a blog post giving an overview of four of them here if you're interested:

Hi Peter,

I hope you are feeling better and I'm glad you are vaping again. Do you still have your Provaris? I don't have experience with lots of other mods but I really love my Provaris and can't imagine what could be better. Take care of yourself.

Y'all can squabble about what device does this or that.... Variable wattage is about as useless to me as a bowling ball with wheels. Redundant and pointless...

While everyone keeps trying to one up each other about which mod they think is best, I'll be over here enjoying my vape on a Provari for YEARS & YEARS to come.

Provari, basic model: $160, barely blemished ones can often be found for cheaper in the clearance section for $150 with the same warranty.

Extension cap: $20 - desirable, but not a necessity.

Optional additional 1 year warranty: $25 - again, desirable but not a necessity considering how durable and dependable the Provari is, and the fact that Provape will continue to service the Provari long after the warranty has finished. People buy the Chinese devices without even thinking about the lack of a long term warranty. And when that warranty is completed, you'll be out of luck finding someone to repair it.

Batteries: $22 for two AW imr 18650 batteries. If you have other mods, you may already have these batteries.

Charger: $20 for an Xtar WP2 II charger. If you have other mods, you already have a charger.

The above totals less than $250.

That's only if it's the absolute bottom of the line you already have batteries, charger etc. The new Provari is now 211$ on sale no less. Extender cap if you only want to use 18650s is really non negotiable. Like I said from the original post, if it is the FIRST time someone is moving up it's going to be pretty expensive. For fun on provape I just added the Provari I had wanted, batteries, warranty and the total is 304.70 cents for things on sale! If I'm paying out of my behind for a PV you bet I'm getting an extra warranty on it.

I couldn't justify it. I wasn't exaggerating about how much it came to when I was seriously considering buying one.

Like everyone said, the provari is the best VV device out there and available. Mine was 220 for the device as I pretty much picked all the expensive options. I consider batteries and chargers a separate investment, as they are not specific to one device.

I have or have had a provari, vamo, lavatube, evic and sigelei zmax...most of the popular choices. I basically only use my provari or my evic now. Both have a nice smooth (non-pulsing) output and I don't vape higher than the evic's limits. Sold the Vamos, gave away the lavatube and the zmax collects dust.

First of all, don't buy the starter kit. Buy only the Provari and extension cap from Provape. $160 + $20 = $180.

If you order the additional 1 year warranty, that's an additional $25. You are still coming out ahead going with the Provari as I'm not aware of any manufacturer who even offers an extended warranty, certainly none of the Chinese manufacturers do. In addition the China manufacturers don't do post-warranty repairs, Provape does. Isn't this customer service worth some additional money in the long run? So now you are at $205.

You buy your charger and batteries from a vendor like RTD Vapor. $42 for two 18650 AW imr batteries and an Xtar charger. This totals to $247. That's $60 less than your estimated quote.

What else am I missing here?

If you are going to be including juice delivery devices that's not fair.

My math? I only added exactly what I was considering buying 2/3 months ago on provape. That was provape's total. Not even including a charger. I was not buying a "starter kit". Simply device, batteries, extender cap, and warranty. That was the total I got for what I had wanted at that time. I would just put a screen shot but I'm not 100% sure if that's against ECF rules.

I'm not saying provari is "bad". All I said was it's not cheap. Particularly so for people who are graduating to their first big "mod" or APV. It's not an easy investment for everybody to budget. If it really was, I would of picked one up long ago. You can slice it and dice it anyway you want it, that's just the truth.

You can buy a Vamo or iTaste device and get very good results, I recommend both of them.

HOWEVER

you will not be able to resell either of those for very much in a year. The technology changes too fast, their reputations arent there, and the build quality hasnt been time tested.

if you buy a provari, you can resell in a year at a minimum to get a good chunk back of what you paid and it will last that long.

i live in MA too, and I can tell you the ProVari is the only VV i have yet to consider close to being winterized.

Not trying to start an argument, but did you miss my point? The key is to not order a Provari KIT from Provape. Just get the body, end cap, and the optional warranty from Provape. Get the charger and batteries elsewhere for cheaper. The total is nowhere near what you had quoted. It's plain as day.

Perhaps prices have lowered since you looked at them.

Not saying that you called a Provari "bad". And I'm not saying that a Provari is not an expensive step up. I'd love a Mini to go with my regular one, but I will need to budget for it first. I was just pointing out that you can get one for $60 cheaper than what you posted. No hurt feelings?

Just to add my to the discussion. I've got 3 provari's, vamo's, itaste vv, a Tesla, and lavatube (young june model I believe). Plus a lot of other mods. IMHO if you want to get out without spending the money for another Provari, I really like the way the Lavatube vapes. Doesn't seem to pulse like the Vamo and Tesla. The Itaste is a nice device for VV also. Even the mods that will do VW I usually set at VV. The only one that stays in VW is the SB when I put the kick in it. And again that's just my
I do hope your health stays up where your feeling better. If you still got your provari's then just get some new batteries from RTD vapor. Best wishes to the OP.

I love my two provaris, but if I were to buy another VV (that also works as a VW device) I would be buying a SIGELEI ZMAX V2. I have a SS VAMO as well and it's OK for the buck, but I wish I had bought the ZMAX, the VAMO is way too big for my taste

If you like tinkering with your device --- the new 1.2 firmware for the eVIC is awesome.

It allows you to change voltages or wattages on the PC, and set it to change during a vape. So if you do a 5 second vape, you can start it off at a high temp, then taper it down, then bring it back up, and then taper it down again. It's worked great on my Splitfire with Thug Juice in it... I'm getting flavors I haven't had before.
