Hello all,

First time poster, long time reader.

I'd love to have put this thread in the "Mods Discussion", however due to the limitation of my account being new, with no posts, this is the only place I was capable of putting it.

I started vaping about a month ago, started with an eGo-T 1000mAh PT, with bridgeless atties and drip tips, and within two weeks I purchased my first mod. I bought the 510-N Torpedo from LiteCigUSA, and for the week I had it, it was great. I broke the switch unit, and decided I'd prefer a longer lasting PV, rather than replace the switch.

Now that I am on to better things, I'd prefer to at least be satisfied for a few months or so before going to the ProVari, so I am determined to get a VV mod under $120 or so. I have a few 16340's and 18650's and chargers laying around, so I'd prefer to stay in those usage levels.

I've found the Buzz Pro to be within my budget, as well as my expectations and battery compatibility, but wanted to check here first before making my purchase. I've also been looking into the LavaTube, however it seems everyone has one, no retailers sell them, and everyone who has one wont sell me theirs, even above retail price!

If anyone could point me in the right direction, be it LavaTube availability, or an even better VV Tube Mod within my budget, I'd be forever grateful. I'd like to have it be compatible with either 18650's or 16340's, but it isn't a necessity. Just dependable and will stand the test of time.

Thanks in advance, and I'm glad to have become apart of a such an awesome community!

Volcano has sole rights to sell the lavatube. You can get one though from them. It hasnt been out too long but seems to be getting good reviews, and the price is hard to beat. Plus you change the voltage with a button and theres a screen displaying it The BuzzPro and IPro are both really nice VV that arnt as much as a Provari. They have a wheel that turns to change the voltage
I would say go with one of those if you want a true VV. There are also a bunch of nice tube mods that arnt VV but can use different batteries for a few different voltages. The Maxi Roughstack and Silverbullet are both like tanks and will last long. They can do 3.7V, 6V, or 7.4V. I think I would get the lavatube, BuzzPro, or iPro though.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I found the LavaTube link through Volcano, but it still appears to be in a "Pre-Order" status stating "Out of Stock". My 510-N was compatible with the 18650 3.7, (2) 16340 3.7 @ 7.4~, and (2) RCR123's at 6.0v. I already have those batteries and compatible chargers, and I want a VV mod for less hassle with fumbling around batteries with a definitive regulated voltage.

As you can see, I picked up this stuff rather quickly :)

As Volcano is the only retailer of the LavaTube licensed to sell in the US, are they even planning on offering these on their site? The last response on their forums indicates they should have been available to the general public, not pre-order, as of Wednesday last week.

So I have located the following VV Tube Mod's that pique my interest:

LavaTube
Joker-AV
iPro
Buzz Pro

All of these appear to be within my budget, but it seems I may just have to bite the bullet and buy myself a Pro-Vari now, instead of waiting. I have a feeling if I purchase anything else, I will be dissatisfied.

Would anyone recommend anything else?

I cant recommend the Ego Booster enough for instant tube VV if you already have Ego batts! Thread it on and adjust from low 3v to nearly 5v. I bought one as I wanted a Provari but needed to wait on the purchase, so since I had a few ego/t batts I decided to get one for the meantime...not sure if/when I will bother now...this thing is great! I thought I wanted a display, but find I adjust to the vape anyway (even on a box vv w/ a display) The other nice thing is its size adjustable...put it on my tiny ego batt for stealthier use, put it on my big ol' 1100 ego-t batt for all day road trips, whatever the day calls for. And if you have a PT ego batt you are really all set.

For the $50 it was a no-brainer... I'm SO glad I did...pretty much havent used any of the rest of my collection since though!

If you are not familiar w/ the Booster they are made/sold by Artisan Vaping and also sold under the Tornado line by Totally Wicked

Just wanted to share my experience when in the same boat. I will tell you that VV took vaping to that next level for me...always satisfying, and even more enjoyable. Sweet spots for every flavor, being able to increase or decrease TH, even to be able to adjust for every carto/atty res...esp as they are getting beat...just tweak it and keep enjoying! Youre gonna love it

Thanks for the response!

I actually did consider buying the booster before purchasing the 510-N, but due to it's price (the full 510-N w/ (2) ultrafire protected batteries + charger and (2) atties was the same price, $50), I jumped all over the 510-N.

I'm glad so many people enjoy the VV mod's, because it instills my belief that it's the correct path to take.

I'll talk to the boss tomorrow (wife) and see which she'd rather I snag, the ProVari, or the Buzz Pro.

Thanks!

Just to throw in an opinion watch all the Lavatube reviews before you jump. It would seem that it doesn't like DCC's and personally I don't think it has the flexability I would want if I was looking for a VV Tube mod.
Here is a good review
GeekGirlVaper's Channel - YouTube
Dave reviewed one on The Haze Hour TVVT and pretty much seemed to have the same results. It would seem if you want higher watts and the ability to get it with multiple different ohm atty and cartos it just won't do it.

I would take a long hard look at the Infinity and Buzz Pro's

Yep, I actually just came to the same conclusion.

Due to already having the needed batteries, how I do not need to run anything above 5v, and having it completely compatible with all my current atties/cartos and drip shield right out of the box, the Buzz Pro is the VV Mod I've chosen.

Thanks for all the help guys, I sincerely appreciate it!

IF u can afford it, i'd still say provari becuz of the built and the "prettiness" of it.
If u want lavatube i believe all the way across, two link has it. not in US though.
ecigwizard
and
uk-eliquid

i did a review on lavatube here if u're insterested.

Edit- i forgot to add that if ur current 18650 batts is those with nipple tops, they won't fit in the lavatube. lavatube uses 18650 flat top meaning it is exactly 65mm in length. the one with nipple is like 65+3mm for the nipple.

    in a cave, eh?
I would consider waiting for the L-Rider VV (aka Lava Tube). It comes bundled with batteries, a charger and 3 ohm atomizers. You just want to add cartomizers (2.5 -> 3.0 ohm).

Unless you really want that Provari. Consider that with the Provari, you're also going to have to purchase batteries and charger separately. You might also consider getting the 18650 extender cap when you're factoring in the costs.

If you're comparing L-Rider, Buzz Pro and Provari: the Provari has an ohm meter and both the L-Rider and Provari have a battery and volt meter. As far as circuit protection and voltage range go, they're all pretty similar. I believe they all have a 2.5 amp cutoff.

What I like about the L-Rider over the Provari is that the vape button is separate from the menu buttons. But the Provari is more solidly constructed and a little shorter than the L-Rider.
