Better waranty or lower price...

But here's my thing, Phil; I've collected a lot of manufacturer and distributer catalogs, and they seem to all warranty their products.

Minus shipping costs, arguments as to if it's covered, etc. I do not think it's easy to get those manufacturers to abide by their warranty. If you sell it w/o the warranty, you make a your smaller markup without the extra work (which should be paid for also as you aren't working for free) and cost of shipping things back and forth from china.

... But here's a tip I do feel strongly about; if you are offering a warranty as a selling point for your product, why do you bury it at the end of your FAQ? It should be featured prominently at least once on any page a price is listed. Heck, you should add (Inc 6-month warranty) next to every price! If it's a selling point, SELL it buddy!

I agree, to people like me it is absolutely a selling point to have a warranty. If I only have to buy a kit every six months that makes a big difference to my decision about who to buy from, it seriously changes my value for money calculations.

I've found that guarantees are no more hassle to me than having to order and pay for new parts when failure occurs. Either way you still need a backup.

My vote is for Lower Prices/Shorter Warranty.

For instance, I would really love to get a KissBox. The cost of the starter kit is already high, and then I would want back-ups for all the parts as well...atomizers, switches, etc... The cost for the kit, extra parts, and juice would go way beyond what I can spend on one order. And if I didn't order the extra parts, I would be stuck with nothing while waiting for new ones. Personally I would rather be able to afford the extras up front.

I think a lot of it does depends on how much time you want to spend dickin' around with returning the products under warranty. For me personally, I can't be bothered with it. I'm more of a "disposable" person.

For example, I use a different atomizer for each flavor I vape. So at any given time, I have 10 atomizers around....some black, white and silver. If a couple die, I just order more to replace them....although I have only had 2 die since I started vaping and now I'm not even sure those were totally dead as I have seen some miraculously spring back to life. Wish I had kept them now to experiment...sigh. In any event, I would have no desire to keep track of them, the original packaging, invoice, etc....whatever it takes to return an item...every time one died. Too much hassle for me.

But, on the flip side....once I ever decide on a product I think I want for life...well, maybe that will be different. But I don't know what that is yet.

Kind of reminds me of my cellphone. Every 2 years I get a newer model when I reactivate my account. I don't care about warranty as long as the thing lasts the 2 years. So I'd rather pay $100 with a shorter warranty than $300 for something that would have a 5 year warranty because most likely, I will not be keeping it that long. I've still got another year and I'm already looking at my next model. And since they keep coming out with something better, I don't know if that will ever be different!

Grrrrr!! I wish the damn forum notifications were working for me!!!

Anyways... As to getting the manufacturers to deal with bad parts, its a total pain in the behind. Not to mention what the shipping costs are for not only returning a bunch of bad parts to the manufacturer but also the shipping costs for sending the replacement parts to the customer. And yes I agree, I need to make the warranty a bit more apparent to all those that are checking my site out!

I am also constantly pushing the manufacturer I use to improve there products. Its a long hard uphill battle at this point though.
