Just want to alert everyone to an email I received from someone impersonating paypal. This is the text of the email:

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification procedure we have detected a
slight error in your PayPal account.

This might be due to the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information (ie. change of address, email address)

2. An inability to accurately verify your selected option of payment due to an internal
error within our systems.

We have attached a form to this email. Please download the form and follow the
instructions on your screen. NOTE: The form needs to be opened in a modern browser which has
javascript enabled (ex: Internet Explorer, Firefox ,Netscape)

Please understand that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to temporary suspend your account.

Sincerely,
PayPal Account Review Department.

Sounds pretty authentic doesn't it? Of course the "form" asked for my paypal ID, password ad debit card/bank account number.............

This is the email that it was sent from: webform@intl.paypal.com

Please be aware before providing any info like this via email. PayPal will not ask you for your password.

Happy vaping!

I have gotten tons of these over the years from people posing as paypal. I wouldn't even open it (it could have a nasty bug as well), you just forward it to spoof@paypal.com then delete the message and run an anti-virus and anti-spy-bot program.

If you enter the information they will wipe out any funds they can get their hands on.

Good advice. This is why I never keep money in my PP account for more than 24 hours. I've gotten these before as well, but though I would post this as a warning to anyone who hasn't seen one before........

Recieved it a looong while back. Noticed bad grammar. Reported and deleted.

As captain tightpants says, obvious scam is obvious.

Edit: I should probably mention that the thing that was most glaringly obvious about it was that the URLs they wanted me to use were incorrect, although most people wouldn't notice that.
