iota - a carto is short for 'cartomizer', that is, a 'cartridge atomizer'. Ever see those mods with just a thin tube sticking out as a topper? Like some of the ones in Uncle's travel kit pics. That's a carto. There are also tanks which use a cartomizer inside the tank. They're said to be virtually leak-proof, and many of the popular carto-tank manufacturers make some really lovely looking customized items. Hard to resist, but not an easy fill-and-go experience at all. You buy the cartomizers separately, then you have to cut them along the base to allow the juice to flow into it from the tank. Or you can buy them pre-cut. Then you have to pre-prime the carto by dripping the juice into the end a little at a time until it's full, then mount it in the tank, then fill the tank. Many vapers swear by them either in the tanks or out.
After writing my post about them above, I dragged out my Boges and decided to give them another day in court. It wasn't quite as bad as I remembered, filling it up a little at a time - though the 50/50 juice I started using was way too thick and I had to switch mid-stream to a much higher pg ratio. A nice vape, but a somewhat limited and seemingly antiquated system imo.
