What is catch-up?

Traver -- Alan Titchmarsh is a television presenter (we call them hosts here in the US) from England. He used to have a great gardening show called Ground Force where they surprised a person with a garden (yard) makeover. I used to watch it on BBC America. Didn't know he had a chat show, I may have to try to find that online since he's a pretty entertaining guy.

What is catch-up?

Basically a TV iPlayer.You can watch shows in the UK that you missed.I watched it.Alan and 3 of his guests had E-Cigs and Alan also had an E-Cigar. It was shown on No Smoking Day in the UK. Alan (a non-smoker) had a coughing fit One of the guests said her Menthol was nice. Overall not a bad view of them and they did say that they'd probably be good for a smoker. Alan also called it an NRT,i'll let him off for that slip.I'm sure he'll have a lot of viewers so someone out there has had their first introduction too them

I also looked at the No Smoking Day page on Facebook and was surprised to see E-Cigs listed in their list of ways to Quit.

I would go along with a complete ban if they allowed vaping everywhere. That said, I hope this becomes a trend. It should be up to the bar owner.

Does the bill just require the establishment to offer lottery tockets for sale (which the one in the news story already does), or are smokers required to buy a ticket as the price for lighting up inside? That would be hard to enforce.

This brings back memories. When I was in college, they did not print your age on the university ID card. In those days, they sold 3.2% beer to anyone over age 18, but you had to be 21 years old to buy drinks with a higher alcoholic content. Most college students are older than 18, but not all. The bar owners pointed out that not every student had a driver's license, so how were they supposed to verify age? The college town decided to sell an identify card to citizens who needed a document for proof of age. All the students referred to this as a "Drinking License."

So would a lottery ticket serve as a "Smoking License"?

Just looks like they are required to sell lottery tickets at the establishment but still lol . . . . Maybe i'm just overthinking it but it still seems a bit strange of a requirement

Im in Wichita, Kansas and even though this bill is being proposed and was published on the news website, it was a very small story and nobody here seems to be talking much about it. Ill keep tabs on it and see what happens. I do know that there are a LOT of smokers here and they were not happy with the ban. But there are a lot of non-smokers here as well that pushed hard for the ban. Really wasnt to many undecided votes or smoker sympathizers here. As far as the Lotty ticket sale, thats just Kansas wanting more money. Its only required that they sell tickets for the Kansas lottery, not Powerball or another. Guess they would just throw that into the bill so they could make some extra cash for throwing the bars a bone.

On a good note, from my own experiences here vapers seem to get a big approval from both sides of the matter.

What a novel idea, letting a proprietor decide how to run his/her business. Go figure!
