Or no taste I guess....

I've been told that this is common after a couple of weeks of vaping due to the tastebuds changing but it hit hard today. NONE of my vapes seem to have any flavor at all! I'm getting vapor but the flavor is completely gone. I've tried two different 510 batteries, my passthrough, 5 different cartomizers and 4 different flavors. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. Everything tastes like I'm vaping baby oil.

I hope this doesn't last long. :(

Man.... that sux. I know EXACTLY what you mean.
My taste will COMPLETELY drop out for like a day or two. Usually just a day-- and I can't get ANY taste outta my niquids!
No matter how hard or what voltage I vape, I cannot taste anything.
Now I'll get nic'd the hell up, but I can't even get a sweet taste.
I have no clue why this is.
I don't smoke ANYTHING anymore.
and I've been vaping for a few months now...

can't figure it out
I have no answer but I feel you man...

When this happened to me I just switched to my Cinnamon Pear flavor, it's a very strong flavor so always manages to work, Cinnabomb or menthol are also very good.
Yeah, I can get the cinamon from the Fried Apple I ordered from Mad Vapes. Just a faint touch. I'm not a big cinamon fan but their Fried Apple is probably my fave vape and even it is barely registering on my tastebuds.
I have no answer but I feel you man...
Thanks for the moral support, bro. :2cool:

I've been going thru this as well...vaping 3 weeks now. I've read a bunch of threads about this and other related stuff, so let me impart some knowledge I've learned from others.

Stronger flavors can work, as others have said. But a good thing to look at is your nose and sinuses actually. If your nose/sinus is clogged, this will effect your taste. Google "nasal irrigation" and try that.

Drink a lot of water. If your mouth is dry you won't taste things as well. You should be drinking a lot of water anyways if you are vaping.

Buy a tongue scraper. You can find them at any grocery/walmart/drug store. Brushing your tongue is not the same as scraping it.

If you are vaping a heavy PG juice, try one that's heavy in VG (or vice versa).

Drink a mouthful of fruit juice. I have a carton of fruit punch in the fridge and take a mouthful and swish it around. It cleanses your mouth, which is good for removing a strong flavor and might help as well.

Also, I just went thru 3 days or so of really BAD taste and then my tongue hurting. This stuff can apply as well, but I post this in case you experience this too.....

If your tongue is hurting, it's most likely nicotine level. Lower your level, maybe even down to 0. A day of vaping just some flavored VG helped take care of this for me.

Vary the placement of your PV in your mouth. When I started I had a tendency to vape just straight over the middle of my tongue.....move it to one side or the other and mix it up. Vaping right over the same area of your tongue can irritate it.

Mix 1 cup water with 1tablespoon baking soda. If your tongue is hurting, it's also caused by the acidity in your mouth. Use this mix like a mouthwash and it will help relieve the pain.

Best of all: Know you are not alone and this happens to a lot of us. And it *will* pass. It definitely sucks big time when it does, but don't give up and try to get through it. If anything, when it does pass, you'll appreciate how well everything tastes even more.

Hey, I just realized I forgot to thank you for the info here. A lot of good tricks to try.

Sadly, I am still experiencing some loss of taste but it's slowly improving and hasn't deterred me from vaping. Right now, the only vape that tastes "right" to me is Mad Vapes Marlboro flavor. My sweeter vapes all still taste bland to me and I'm not sure why. It's kind of a bummer because I'm really missing my apple flavors. :( The Marlboro is geting me by but it's definitely not my favorite vape.

I still find it weird that all my vapes taste so blah but everything else still tastes normal.

My tastes changed in the first few weeks...maybe will still. I started liking sweet stuff, then I didn't and preferred creamy (butterscotch!)...I'm on a tobacco kick now. But sweet stuff just doesn't do it for me, none of them really taste sweet like I'd like them too. Even adding sweetener doesn't do anything but make them taste funny.

What unit or voltage are you vaping with? Maybe want to try switching that up....try a LR atty with a 3.7 if you aren't......or if you are, try a normal atty.

I used to think the same thing about sweet (fruity) flavors. Then I got a sample of FSUSA's Strawberry Twist...Well let's just say I'm taking another look again.;)

I've been using cartomizers from day one. Just seems easier than fussing with separate carts and attys. My 510 is a 3.7 and my passthrough is 5 volt. I use the same cartos with both and they did fine for the first week. Then my taste buds decided to check out.

Been there too. I think it was day 6 of no analogs but about 3 weeks since I had really cut back. Luckily I wanted to DIY so I had a kit and was able to make unflavored and a strong menthol.

My boyfriend went through it too and he said the menthol was great to help clear out his sinuses .

I like the unflavored every once in awhile just to 'reset' my tastes. I find it really does bring out the flavor of my next vape.
