Hi. Im pretty new into mods and ive noticed that in one of my tubes was a black and rough build up inside. What is this? Is this bad? How can i get it out?

Looks like a nice mod, so if I understand you are using a dripper. What is the resistance of you coil and did you build it yourself? Those batteries are good.
Coils are .3. Dual coil. I tried to toothbrush the black residue. Some came off. But its still black and rough inside
How is the vape? Did you build the coil? Seems a lot of new people are having coils built for them and are not really up to par on doing it themselves. I don't know your background so tough to answer. Sounds like maybe some carbon buildup. Is it only in the dripper or in the battery tube?
Its covered the inside of my battery tube. I had the coils built at my local vape shop. If its carbon. Any way to get it out?
Does not sound like a good situation. I would first try removing the battery and wiping the inside tube with iso alcohol and let dry . That may be able to get some of the black stuff off. Obviously you are new to mech mods and they can be dangerous. I don't know why in the world vendors build coils for people... they ought to have their liability ins cut. Do you have any other type clearos etc that you could use on the mod?
Do you have any other mod or multimeter to check the ohms on the coil or the battery?
Your post count is low that Is why I ask, have you been vaping long? What type other equip do you have?
Have you ever left your mod unlocked and it fired on it's own for a while? I had a Stingray clone and it was firing for about a minute without me knowing. Totally burned the inside of the tube and left some black build up. Just take some rubbing alcohol and clean it. Once it dries use a wet paper towel with just a little water. I don't like to leave chemicals on my mod, that should do the trick.
OP, what you are experiencing is normal. It has nothing to do with your tank or battery of choice at all. So please disregard those suggestions. They won't fix anything.
I have used rebuildable atomizers on mechanical mods for a long time and what is happening is the metal is naturally oxidizing. As the oil from your hands, juice spills or any type of moisture gets on the metal it oxidizes.
To fix this issue you just need some metal cleaner and a rag. There are many videos showing the proper maintanence / cleaning of a mechanical mod but that's all you need to do. I clean m mods once a week.

odd... I have never experienced this so called normal occurence. What kind of metal is your mod made from that makes the inside of the battery tube turn black??
What material is your mod made of??? Certain materials such as brass / copper are way more susceptible but all metals including stainless steel will have it happen eventually.
Take your mod completely apart and look at all the places where two parts come together and in your threads. You will see black build up after a week or so of constant use. Use a good metal cleaner and a rag. You will be shocked how much gets cleaned off.

Uummmm, I don't think schuff was referring to black build up like yours. The build up on yours looks........ Unnaturally unnatural. Far far too much build up. I think he was referring to build up on the threads. On the inner tube where there are no threads, it should look clean, (but if you use a cloth with alcohol to wipe it, you'll be able to see some black smudges on the cloth)

If you mod isn't that old, than there is probably an issue somewhere. That could be from battery making contact with the mod to carbon to whatever. If it really is a new mod, I wouldn't use it until you sort it out. I would go to one of the sub forums or the "Ask the Vets" section to get a good answer.
If it is old and/or used and you have never cleaned your mod with rubbing alcohol, it is probably just dirty.

It seems like it has fused on to the metal. Its really rough. I tried using a tooth brush to take it out but nothings happening.
Did you ever see it not like this? It looks like maybe that is from the way the mod is made, looks like raw unfinished metal, perhaps from casting, they just didn't take the time to sand and polish the inside of the mod
