Last night I had some curiosity about how a cigarette would taste. I still have the pack of Newports in the glove box of my car from six weeks ago (November 14th) when I started vaping.

I hadn't realized how nice it is to vape flavors that actually taste delicious. That Newport tasted awful.
Maybe they were old, but I took one puff, and it was so awful! I took another puff, then threw it out the window. I know, I littered. It was gross.

I was keeping the pack in my car "just in case" I wanted a cigarette. I didn't want to get all rebellious and think I couldn't have a smoke if I wanted one. I don't!

When I first got my PV, I used it exclusively for almost a month. Then I used up all the cartos that came with the kit. Including the 0 nic one. I ordered more juice but since I had to wait for it to arrive I went out and bought a pack of smokes. The first drag left me feeling light headed, my heart started racing and I wanted to throw up. I threw the pack in my car just in case, but decided I wouldn't smoke another. The juice I ordered took way longer than I expected. 10 days! Needless to say during that time I went back to smoking. Once my juice arrived, I was back to my PV. A month later, that pack is still in my car. I should probably get rid of it because I don't see myself going back to smoking analogs. Besides, that pack is probably stale and would make me throw up.

Either way... good for you...

That's interesting that you had the pack all that time and didn't smoke any until you were curious how they would taste.

I smoked all of the ones I had (less than a pack) after I got my vaping supplies. The interesting thing for me was that I haven't felt a need to buy any more.

This morning I found a couple of my cigs in my hubby's car ashtray. They must be months old and had been lit, but were still pretty much intact. I brought them in the house and have been considering trying them. I don't think I would even be considering it if I hadn't run out of my favorite juice today.

I think I could use some encouragement to just throw them away. :)

From most of the people I have read stories from to include myself, the feeling after smoking a cigarette after vaping is not satisfactory. Some have a guilty conscience about smoking an analog. Some get queezy and light headed. The overall feeling I believe is "Why the hell did I even do that?" and "Gawd that is so gross! How did I even smoke these things for so long?"

That in itself should be enough to deter you from even lighting up those nasty things. If your curiosity is that strong then go for it, but you've been warned.. :D

I can't even imagine how bad a real smoke must now taste. I live with my sister who still smokes in the house and it makes me sick just to smell it - wintertime in St. Louis and I always keep a window open - that should tell you how bad it is. I don't know why or how, but I am one of the lucky ones who has not even had any desire to smoke a real cigarette since I started vaping. I threw my cigarette case and my last 4 packs of cigarettes away within the first week of vaping. I just knew when I started vaping that I would never smoke another cigarette. Crazy...

Not crazy at all. Actually pretty common. I started vaping to cut down on smoking, not quit. I failed too many times at quitting, and wasn't going to set up for another failure. It just happened. After vaping, cigarettes became as foul to me as they are to non smokers. Now I is one. [sic]

Wow, reading all the posts in this thread I'm really beginning to wonder about myself. I started vaping Oct. 14 and for the longest time had I 1 cig first thing in the morning. The last 2 Saturdays I have had 1 each Saturday and then I had one Christmas day and that's been it. These few that I have had I got off my daughter and they are not even my brand. Maybe my tastebuds haven't woke up yet, but I'm not finding them revolting yet, and I don't get lightheaded when I have one.

You know what? Who cares! If you smoke one analog a week for the rest of your life, it will most likely be a much longer and enjoyable life than if you were smoking a PAD. Congratulations! PS. you'll probably knock off the one a week at some time, on your time.

As I was dusting and doing a little cleaning today, I decided to toss the cigs I had left (about six packs...unopened). I don't feel bad about it either. They're no good for me and even if I knew someone I could give them to, they would be no good for them. Toss 'em, Gloria. HTH :D

I think either never smoking analogues again or hitting one every now and then is no big deal. I vaped and smoked ciggies for better than a month before the ciggies tasted like .... Another 6 weeks or so and it'll be a year since my last analogue.

Gloria, I think you made a wise descision. Every so often, Xmas day being the most recent, I get the urge to smoke an analogue. It's a fleeting thought but goes away in minutes, particularly after I load up a freshly charged battery and carto. My wife still smokes and she stinks when she comes in from the back deck after smoking. That's just additional motivation for me.
