Hi everyone, first time on here and I could really do with some help, I have read some of the comments on this issue but i dont really understand some the Vaps which are being used, I only vap to help my many years of smoking, I started in December last year. I have a VooPoo Drag S and I use 100ml liquids from vape District and add 20ml of Nicotine to them. I am female, 57 and vape throughout the day. I am wondering if the toll of vaping has resulted in my bloating? I really appreciate any advise.
thank you in advance

Hi Viv and welcome,

I can't say that I have personal experience with this phenomenon, so I don't want to repeat the internet hear-say on that matter.
Nevertheless, it is really important to stay well hydrated, when vaping.
I would seriously recommend going to a doctor to find out about the underlying causes for your bloating,

PG and VG are hydrophilic so they can cause you to drink more because of dry mouth. This is often a good rather than bad thing though unless you wind up exceeding safe margins. It is possible to drink too much of course. Myself I keep a 2 litre jug of water in the fridge which I try to empty every day. I often don’t make it in the winter. Age over 40 and bloating tend to go together though. In general I’m with @gotch23

Hi,
thank you for your warm welcome. I have considered going to see the doctor, I just have very little faith in them. I will try and drink more water for a week and see if that improves, I am also putting my vape away, out of reach, as I find I am vaping all day and night sometimes. I am going to treat it like having a cig. So after 9 months of not smoking, the need to vape should not be so much. Hopefully I will have a more positive post to make in a week.
Thank you again, it was so kind of you to reply.

Faith is not required. It doesn’t even really apply. There are things doctors know about, things they know only a little about, and things they know nothing about. Not all of them realize this though. Or they have no idea but don’t want to admit it. This is probably one of the things they likely will though. You don’t have to do what they tell you to. It’s often at least useful to know what they find though. There are good doctors and bad ones. One way to think of it is they’re plumbers for the human body. Tradesmen of a really complicated trade.

You might find that increasing the nicotine in your juice will help with the chain vaping. The decrease in chain vaping will lead to a decrease in PG and VG consumption. That, plus increasing your fluid intake, may help with your bloating, especially if you have been constipated. If that doesn't help then the cause of your bloating is not vape related and you should see a doctor.

It actually is a lot like a cigarette. Nicotine is nicotine. It’s a class 1 anti anxiety and the fastest acting one that exists. All anti anxiety drugs are addictive. Nicotine is one of the worst that way. It’s one of the reasons they’re so popular in the military. Getting shot at is anxiety producing. Even the possibility of getting shot at is anxiety producing. A Nicky fit and an anxiety attack feel pretty similar. What makes e-cigs useful is you have a lot more control of the dose and can titrate down more easily, and you’re not breathing the rest of the burning tobacco which is where a lot of the really bad news comes from.

    Hi,

Thank you for your words, I have actually been on 3mg of Nicotine for about 4 months, lack of water is a failing of mine, always too busy (not a valid excuse) Certainly not constipated either, I am going to monitor my usage of the vap as I only got it to quit smoking and my goal was to come of the vap at the start of 2024.
Your words have been helpful and I will surely contact my doctor if it persists.

    Hi

Crazy busy day here, if ive replied already please forgive me, living with the menopause too!
Just wanted to say - great words about our Doctors. However, having suffered with Sciatica for 3-4 years I have found a great Doc who really cares and goes out of his way for me. He's so good I just dont want to take advantage of him. I will drink water and see what results it performs. This line will remain my thoughts forever..... so thank you.

One of the annoying things about the way juice is marketed is 3mg is still too high to easily quit from for some people. The way to do it is get a zero and a whatever and mix them might be something like 3 to 2 to 1 to .5 to 0 or something. If you find yourself vaping your face off maybe you’re dropping too fast.
