ok, I read a post on here awhile back that someone put as the best , easiest, quickest way to clean your atomizer and I want to know if it could do more damage than good.

Ive always been told when I get a new atomizer, to put your lips on the threaded end and blow out the primer fluid that is on the atomizer so you wont get that nasty burnt taste when you first vape.

The person who wrote the thread said that the easiest, quickest, bestest way to clean your atty is to wrap the threaded end in paper towel and blow through the open end.

I have done this and MAN does alot of liquid come out. Seems like a great trick. Although I wonder if liquid is meant to travel through there that way?

Can anyone tell me if I could be doing more harm than good?

Thanks.

I blow out my atty this way every 2-3 days. I've been rotating between the same three attys since I started vaping (each week I rotate). Also, at the end of the week, I'll give the atty I was using a nice hot water rinse and dry burn it until no more vapor comes out. I'll also use a cue tip to swab out some of the excess water droplets on the wall of the atty. This works wonderfully, after it's done, the atty behaves like it was just popped in for the first time.

I have yet to have an atty die on me.

Either hole is fine. If its a new Atty, I highly recommend rinsing in hot water, then fill the large end like a cup with hot water an blow that through. Do that a few times to get the wick clean.

I find there are just a few main causes for poor atty performance:

1) The wick is dirty/clogged up. Soaking in water overnight will dissolve the gunk. Some people like PGH or vodka. Diet cola is also popular, but can strip the paint off an atty. I get my atties without paint for this reason.

2) The coil is encrusted with unburnt gunk. Do a dry burn.

3) The atty is just malfunctioning. The ohm rating could be off. Try using the atty at a different (higher) voltage. You cant fix this, but you can work around it.

and 4) ... you popped it, dumbass... :)

I like option 4.... I was at the mall the other day and a smoking everywhere/free AHole told me my 510 was out dated and leaked and was worthless, so he would give me a discount of $30 if I bought one of his little kits. I think that brought the total to 140.00??? ummm, well anyway he cleaned off an empty cart/no inner cart and dripped 1 drop of ejuice/no nic/I think it was pure VG to get the smoke effect, anyway he started BSing another guy so i quick hit/hot attied the wick dry, it got super hot, then I heard this strange noise/no more vapor....lol, I handed it back to him an said that I was sorry but it just broke. I pulled out my outdated leaking/dripping/pooling ejuice on the floor 510 and took a nice long vape from it. Boy was that a good feeling.
