Hello,
I've been using my original set of KGO 1100 mah batteries (bought as a kit) since I received them in May, 2012. I also bought my sister-in-law a kit but she's been burned out six to eight batteries in that period of time. I know it's something on our end but I'm trying to figure out what is going wrong. I buy pretty much everything for her, so I have control of what she is using. Here is what we've ruled out:
1.) Charger - She is using the right charger. I know there is a problem with using an ejoye charger vs the KGO charger. She is not doing that.
2.) juice - I thought it might be that the first bottle of juice I gave her was 100% VG. She has since blown several batteries using 50/50 and 100% PG.
3.) Ohms - I've checked the ohms of the cartomizers she is using. That is fine. Both of us have only bought cartomizers based on suggested use (2.0 ohm single coil and 1.5 dual coil.)

Additionally, I've conditioned all the batteries the way one distributor suggested. Which was charging for eight hours...puffing for 20 minutes and then charging again for a few hours.

What else am I missing. As I stated earlier, my original KGO batteries have been going strong ( as has another sister-in-law). What do you think she might be doing to blow these batteries?

PS: She cleans the terminals every day and pulls her cartomizers if she inadvertently overfills.

Any advice would be most appreciated!

Are the batteries dead? Or are they just not firing the cartos? I have two kgos that I have to pull up the pin a little everytime they've been charged or they don't make contact with the carto and consequently don't fire.
Yes, try that and you can also pull the pin on the charger and cartos and the batt. Maybe she is overtightening when charging or putting the carto on battery. If not check to see if there isnt juice in between all the contacts, batt, carto, charger etc. Good luck, seems like a lot of batteries to go bad, not that is not possible. Have you contacted the seller? I would in case all of the above doesnt help. Oh, does she leave the batteries charging too long after it goes green? I never did the 8 hour thing, I read somewhere here that you had to do that with the older models. Over charging batts can really kill the batteries life.

What Yiddle said about the battery posts is true.

A cheap voltmeter will tell you the charge state. If it's not working and you read 3.4v or higher, there's something going on with the ecig/carto contacts. The center contact will get pushed in just about every time if it's screwed on too tight. Screw it on until it stops and give it just a light additional force to seat it. You could actually apply enough force using your fingers like you used to hold a cigarette ;)

Look at the cartos from the side. The center contact should protrude just enough above the threads to make contact without shorting out to the threaded part. If they are flush, they either won't make contact or they will short the battery and you'll get 3 flashes when you hit the button and no vape. Straighten a jumbo paper clip and bend a tiny right angle on the end with needle nosed pliers. Use that in the center hole to wiggle the center contact back out slightly. Do it gently. You don't want to pull the center contact out, wires and all! You want just enough to be higher than the outside threaded part.
